Alrededor de 160 escuelas de Irlanda del Norte, Reino Unido, recibieron correos con amenazas de explosivos que invocaban a Alá, prometían una serie de ataques y advertían que algún día se impondría la ley sharía. El mensaje afirmaba que había dispositivos con nitrato de amonio dentro de los establecimientos y fue firmado con “Allahu Akbar”.
La Policía de Irlanda del Norte informó que las verificaciones no encontraron explosivos y actualmente trata los mensajes como una amenaza falsa. El remitente todavía no fue identificado y la investigación continúa.

Extraoficialmente se dió a conocer que fue liberado de la cárcel de Yare Joao de Gouveia, el mismo que cometió la Masacre de tres personas y varios heridos en la plaza Francia de Altamira en Diciembre del año 2002. Goveia, tenía pena de 29 años y 11 meses de prisión, luego de asumir los hechos.
