I don't think he knows enough about this topic with all due respect.
I listened to his analysis and it made no sense to me. Maybe he needs to clarify better.
Mustafa Chike-Obi: Large foreign reserves don’t mean Nigeria is better off
Mustafa Chike-Obi, former chairman of Fidelity Bank, says maintaining Nigeria’s $52 billion to $53 billion foreign reserves costs the country more than $10 billion annually.

Facts
The certifications are good to build foundational knowledge and demonstrate intention, but nothing beats hands on, practical, real life experience.
Early in your career that certification is important, after a while it doesn’t mean much
If you like do AFM or FMVA.
When they hand you the valuation of a brand name or a biological asset, you’ll quickly realise that those certifications alone won’t save you.
Hot tears go first roll!!!
You’re better off joining a valuation team at work and gaining hands-on experience than spending all that time chasing certifications without practical exposure.
Unpopular opinion: in finance, client experience beats a stack of certificates. Every time.
Take financial modelling and valuation. The models you build in training are neat. Clean data, clear assumptions, one right answer.
Real client models? Nothing like that.

Managing clients. Handling stakeholders. Explaining your numbers clearly. Defending an assumption when someone in the room doesn't like it.
You can't learn that in a modelling class. You only build it by sitting across from real clients.
