We recently sat down with Danielle Crumrine, Executive Director of Tree Pittsburgh, where she shared all about her love of trees and what it was like to grow up as the granddaughter of coal miners. She also spoke about the incredible opportunity Tree Pittsburgh now has after receiving federal funding to expand Tree Pittsburgh’s services and plant more trees all across Pittsburgh. “We’re in between our industrial past and this transition away from fossil fuels now into a more sustainable future. I think we need to be very proud and ask, ‘How do we reimagine Pittsburgh without losing the past?’,” Danielle said. Watch Danielle’s story and learn how Tree Pittsburgh is using federal funding to enrich Pittsburgh’s tree canopy and the health of our communities in Allegheny County. #CIPPPA #PittsburghStrong #TreePittsburgh #CleanEnergyForTheWin #ActOnClimate #ReImagineAppalachia #Pennsylvania #Appalachia #InflationReductionAct #ClimateChange @Landforcepgh @Treepgh

Tree Pittsburgh finds two barriers to tree adoption for low-income homeowners: Affordability Maintenance Now, with the Federal Clean Energy Plan funding that @TreePgh just received, it’s planting more trees in low-income neighborhoods at no cost to homeowners AND helping to maintain those trees years after planting. 🎉🌳 Residents can apply to have their mature trees pruned and maintained. Tree Pittsburgh will take care of everything, including the cost. 🙌 In neighborhoods often vulnerable to heat and air quality challenges, these trees will improve air quality and provide shade that will cool temperatures and even lower energy bills. So much happiness can come from just a few trees! Watch to see how Tree Pittsburgh is using federal funding to improve health and happiness in lower-income communities throughout Allegheny County. #CIPPPA #PittsburghStrong #TreePittsburgh #CleanEnergyForTheWin #ActOnClimate #ReImagineAppalachia #Pennsylvania #Appalachia #InflationReductionAct #ClimateChange @TreePGH @landforcepgh @newdeal4us
