When building an investment portfolio or adding insurance, it’s very important to understand all the details about your plan or policy. If your advisor is wanting to include something in your portfolio, they should have no problem explaining the value of it. That is if they truly know what they’re providing is best for you.

Huge announcement form the CDL! - Different formats - 12 total tournaments. - 6 Pro-Ams! - Challengers Opens at every event. - Middle East getting their own region. Depending on the reason, this is a step towards making the CDL more international. - Financially sustainable for 2 years in row. In whatever shape or form that is, don’t take that info lightly. Consistent financial sustainability is the best news you can hear from an esports league. This is a massive announcement for the comp scene. Can count on us to be at the NA events at the least.
The 2027 season starts now. Welcome to the next era of the Call of Duty League. #CDL2027

One way I explain this to developers is that your first breakout game should (usually) be used as a financial buffer to get you to the second one. The second time you make it big, you can really do some planning to secure your career. It’s also the point where you can really expand your budget for your personal life and portfolio. Whether that’s slop or a passion project, find a way to get to that second breakthrough.
Make slop to pay the bills. Make passion projects to retire.

Well said here. When you’re a player or developer early into your career, it’s easy to think short term and take the highest salary vs the best environment around you. For the long term, you almost always benefit more financially by choosing the right opportunity vs the highest salary at the beginning. You see careers die overnight from a higher salary with an org that has no resources to build you up or extend your career. Look past the numbers💰
Young players need to stop asking for a salary first At the start of your career, good management, travel support, coaching, tools, content support, and real opportunities can be worth way more than €100/month. Ask for an environment that helps you grow Not just money.

I have had people saying insane things to me on here for last 24 hours thinking I am @lanceopp. We are not the same person nor do we have any affiliation with each other. I did not make the movie PRIMETIME. I am a financial advisor not a movie producer. But if you need any help on the financial side I’m happy to have that conversation 🤣

If you're a pro player looking to sign with an agency... please have someone qualified look it over first. Some of these are beyond predatory and the T&Cs are extremely broad/generic for what is essentially someone telling you where to sign on a dotted line. Protect yourself.

This is the clarity I was looking for on the new announcement of the Roblox wallet. Cool features and a huge step for the platform. But as we anticipated, it doesn’t look favorable for developers in terms of tax planning. As we get more info, we’ll look at the best options for creators to capitalize on it. The other part to question is “Funds sit with an unnamed financial partner at tier-one banks.” Certainly we’ll get the info on who specifically is holding the money right? Stuff like that is important know.
The Roblox Wallet is here. And it's not just a new feature; Roblox has announced they'll be shutting down DevEx... I went to the workshop at RDC 2026 and pulled every detail. Here's what actually launches, what doesn't, and when:

Watching the blow up that Cam has had really makes me hope someone is helping him financially plan and secure his streaming career. Months like this can blind creators to think this is the way life is forever, but in reality the income streams are so volatile that you need a plan to how to make this work long term. Whenever one of my creators has a huge month, we emergency plan for how to handle it. There’s definitely room to have fun with your money, we just want to make sure you don’t tank out of your career.
Nitro_Camden was in disbelief after being gifted a $30,000 streaming backpack just one week into his new streaming career 🤯 - Exactly seven days ago, at just 18 and still in high school, he was kicked out of his home by his mother and left without a permanent place to live.

It’s awesome to see creators like Apex opening up opportunities for other creators. I love the initiative to streamline a way for creators to connect with their local communities. Providing data for the creators and companies helps everyone grow if they know how to analyze it
Most of the creator economy has been built around reaching people everywhere. Local businesses need something different: creators who live nearby, posting about places their viewers can actually walk into. Today we’re launching @TryNearbyCom as part of @ycombinator S26, live with 120+ paying restaurants across Southern California. We have spent the last 10 months doing restaurant visits with creators and sitting with hundreds of owners, learning what they actually need. That work grew us over 130% since the batch started with over 90% retention since November. Excited to continue to make local businesses discoverable online, and to turn millions of locals into creators for the businesses around them.

With @EWC_EN going on, I like to acknowledge this each year: Some of you will walk away with hundreds of thousands, and some are guaranteed $10,000 just for qualifying for the event. My advice is always use your earnings to your advantage, it can be absolutely life changing. The income in esports is extremely volatile, so having a plan and taking advantage of larger prize pools could extend the length of your esports career. Find the balance of having fun and being smart with your earnings!

What OpTic has been able to put together these past few years has been incredible. This year alone was extremely competitive with 4 different winners of the events. In the end OpTic and Faze sit at the top after champs and EWC. It’s also important to acknowledge what having organizations like @gentlemates and @tBushGaming have done for the league as well. They both had a direct impact on viewership with the integration of international and sports fan viewership. It was a blast to be at Major 1, DreamHack and Champs this year to support the guys! Hopefully we can get to EWC next year. Excited for what’s to come with MW4🔥
The Green Wall does it again. Congratulations to @OpTic, the COD BO7 at EWC26 Champions 🏆

Great example of why investing and long term financial planning can be so crucial right from the beginning of your career. Let’s assume that Nadeshot needed the extra $5 million just to live off of. If he were to invest the $5 million and live off of an interest rate of 5% APY, then he could take in an income of $250,000 each year. Depending on how you structure your investment portfolio, it would also be in your favor have someone who can tax plan, and help you understand how to properly take the distributions of that $250,000. It’s very common when you’re younger to not worry about these things, but then one day you randomly get burned out and you really wish you planned for it.
Nadeshot says he'd probably quit streaming if he made another $5 million The veteran streamer says he likes being offline: "This is just a means to an end"

I’m sure Nadeshot has everything already planned out. This is just an opportunity to emphasize the importance of planning.

If you look at the most successful orgs, they are all creating fan bases by pumping out content. Which is quite literally what barstool is built on. Dave brings up Robert Kraft buying the Boston Breach for $20 million and wanting sell to him for $1 million. Fair assumption on paper, but that was in 2020 where a bunch investors, who had no idea what they were doing in esports, starting valuing teams (who were barely profitable) as a $50 million dollar organization. They had no proper metrics to justify those values, so they then dumped a bunch of money into esports and wondered where their profit was a year later. Just a complete miscalculation. Esports is not ultra profitable now, but it’s found a better level where it can sustain. AND the trend of kids who are buying into video games/esports vs actual pro sports is shifting. Parents today literally pay coaches to make their kids to better at video games in hopes that they become a pro. Over time it’s going to create a cultural shift, and that shift could be in the next 5 years, so don’t be late for it.
Update from the owner on @tBushGaming Also @AustinJenkins07 is an asshole which makes him good at his job and when Im gone he’ll probably go from assistant to high level executive here
