During Xavi’s era, Raphina was primarily a right winger. Then Lamine Yamal exploded onto the scene, and Raphinha sacrificed his preferred position to move to the left.
Barcelona were close to signing Nico Williams, but the deal collapsed. Suddenly, Raphinha was the main option again.
A lot of fans weren’t convinced. They questioned whether he could really be relied on.
Raphinha didn’t complain. He worked harder, stayed confident and answered everything on the pitch.
That season, he finished with more goals and assists than the “Nico Williams” many people wanted instead.
Fast forward to this season.
The Julián Álvarez deal isn’t happening because Atlético refuse to negotiate. Raphinha has now stepped up again, making it clear he’s ready to play striker and have been impressive in the role .
At this point, Raphinha isn’t just a player for us.
He’s already a Barcelona legend. Visca Barça.
MY OBSERVATIONS VS PSG 🔵🔴
Gordon was disappointing. As our most expensive signing in a while, we expected more. He needs to improve his finishing and make a bigger impact in big games.
Why was Pedri subbed off? He helps us control the game, keep the ball, and beat the press. Unless he had a fitness issue, I would have kept him on.
Our defense let us down again. PSG found too much space behind our high line. We cannot keep making these mistakes against top teams.
We lost control of the midfield. Once PSG found space, we struggled to stop their attacks. We needed better balance between attack and defense.
Our game management was poor. We had chances to stay in the game but made costly mistakes at key moments.
Flick must take some blame. His choices and substitutions need questioning too. We cannot blame the defenders for everything.
We need more from our big signings. Gordon has to show why we spent so much on him. Expensive players must prove their worth in big games.
My biggest concern remains our defense. We have the quality to compete with the best but keep making the same mistakes.
Flick must fix this. We cannot keep facing this every season.
Let’s be honest, our most expensive signing this summer has been a letdown so far.
Gordon’s performances haven’t been anything special, especially considering how much we spent on him.
Personally, I’d rather we used that money to sign Bastoni. Yes, we need more depth in attack, but our biggest problem is still the defense.
What’s the point of spending big on attack when our weak defense can cost us the biggest games? 🔵🔴
Today is Pedri’s moment to remind the world why he’s one of the best midfielders in football. 🪄
With our defence weakened by injuries, Rodri’s defensive work will be crucial. His ability to protect the backline and cover spaces could allow Pedri to focus on what he does best: controlling the tempo, beating the press and creating chances.
But let’s be clear: Rodri’s protection means Pedri could have even more influence on this game.
Against PSG’s intense press, Pedri’s quick turns, vision and ability to find passes through tight spaces could be the difference. If he controls the midfield battle against Vitinha and company, we have a real chance of controlling the entire game.
We need Pedri to take responsibility, demand the ball and show his class when the pressure is highest.
Tonight, the stage is yours, Pedri. Show them why they call you a magician. We’re all rooting for you!
Visca Barça! 🔵🔴
Tomorrow is the war of who scores more! Barcelona vs PSG. ⚔️
Let’s be honest, our defence is a major concern, but PSG missing Nuno Mendes gives Lamine Yamal a huge opportunity to work his magic. With Raphinha also back in the picture, our attack has every reason to cause problems.
This could turn into a game of who can outscore the other. We need to keep possession, take our chances and avoid giving PSG easy counterattacks.
Now, Hansi Flick, surprise us. We need your magic more than ever! 👀
We trust our attack, but can our defence survive PSG?
With Nuno Mendes ruled out, we have a huge opportunity to exploit PSG’s left side. Lamine Yamal could have more freedom to attack, and Raphinha’s probable return to the starting XI gives us another weapon in the final third.
But our biggest concern remains the backline. With Kounde and ERIC Garcia out, and Gerard Martin’s fitness a concern, PSG’s pace and counterattacks could punish us badly.
The key is controlling possession, winning the midfield battle and limiting their transitions. If we dictate the tempo and stay compact defensively, we have enough quality to beat PSG.
Our attack can win us this game. Our defence must not throw it away. 🔥
