Love this—“If you don’t help bring about justice, then one day, you too can experience injustice, and there will be nobody there for you”.

Why does rural Alberta support Danielle Smith? She shafts our Municipal governments. Won't force oil companies to pay their municipal tax debts. Drives off our doctors and nurses, forcing clinics to close. Please, why?
Don’t let Canada Burn! I just signed a petition calling on @JonathanWNV to double support for wildfire fighters so they can fight the growing threat of climate change-fuelled fires Please join me and sign here: action.dontletcanadaburn.ca/…
#countrythunder is happening and it’s time to move this very loud event out to the country!! Smack dab in the middle of the city is not appropriate. We’ve just finished with Stampede parties/noise! Enough is enough @yycwhatson @JyotiGondek @Ward9Tweets @EastVillageYYC

A Trump supporter was seated next to an older woman on an airplane and he turned to her and said, “Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.”
The old woman, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger:
“What would you want to talk about?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” said the man. “How about how they stole the election in 2020 and Donald Trump should be president.”
“Okay,” she said. “Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?”
The man, visibly surprised by the old woman’s, thinks about it and says, “Hmmm, I have no idea.”
To which the old woman replies, “Do you really feel qualified to discuss politics, when you don’t know shit?”

Car bloat - the continually expanding size of the typical automobile - is killing our cities. Bloated cars and trucks are compromising our air quality, stealing space, contributing to congestion, making our kids and seniors unsafe - it's a disaster on wheels.
Changes to public policy - outlined in the article below - got us to this point. The fix: changes to public policy.
Restrict vehicle sizes in cities other than for commercial purposes, charge these road hogs higher taxes, and significantly restrict where they can park.
There are things we can do to take back our cities.

As we start deliberations on how we best address Calgary’s housing crisis, #yyccc has just received this letter of support from the federal minister of housing @SeanFraserMP - we will jeopardize or lose federal funding if we do not approve the full strategy. We must act now.

Amsterdam is currently trialing the closure of Weesperstraat—one of its busiest arterials—to through traffic.
By using temporary measures to limit access to local traffic, they’re analyzing the impact on safety, pollution, congestion and quality of life.
