My Mom was badass. Someone said to me this past week” Wow your Mom had a great run!”, and that she did. One of seven kids raised by a single mom and a free spirit in every sense of the word. One of only two women in her pre-med class at FSU. She would soon set out for an even bigger adventure. She started by auditioning to ride the famed high diving horse in Atlantic City’s Steel Pier. How you learn to do that 40 feet me, a horse and a tank. She had ridden and owned horses as a kid, but choosing to fly with one well that’s just sheer bravery, cause hey why not!?! She loved the ocean and spent a lot of time at the shore, the ocean, the boardwalk and the pier. She loved to tell the story that while at the piers arcade she beat Wilt Chamberlain in a free contest while still a teenager. She loved people and animals went on to work with dolphins , rescued animals, she worked at an aquarium and was the croc huntress before there was a croc hunter . she traveled the world and performed water ballet at the world’s fair in Brussels . she came back to New Jersey and eventually met my dad, the beloved voice of the Philadelphia Flyers. He chased her for seven years in between globe trotting until she finally said yes. They raised three kids and for two parents with unique jobs , crazy hours and travel they managed to put together a steady loving Home for all of us. We celebrated holidays a day early or two days later and nothing was conventional but they made our lives pretty spectacular. They taught us to think freely, love all people, act with kindness, to be loyal and passionate to respect the truth and they gave us an unwavering center. Sometimes it’s hard when you grow up in La La Land, your heart can break but goodness prevails even in the times where it doesn’t. She became an English teacher. She was my first grade teacher aid she taught foreign students. English, she was my Townes’s environmental commissioner and ran for public office in New Jersey. Being married to my dad was just part of the adventure. She was one of the original Flyers wives worked the charity from day one and and held down the fort with three kids while my dad was on the road with a hockey team. She always supported my music. She was at every show with my father and traveled the world again to come and see me sing. No matter where I was, she would always be there. She was the mom that drove all my friends to the mall and picked us up at two in the morning after the Rocky Horror Picture Show. She taught me how to ski and ice skate. She taught me French and showed me how to ride a horse. She taught me to swim in the ocean and to love the sea, which to this day is still my favorite place. She looked very proper on the outside, but she was had a hilarious really dry cutting sense of humor. She had the bluest eyes I’ve ever seen. They looked like the sky and her hair was pure white, even as a child. Everybody who met my mom, loved her, including her grandkids. She would take them to Flyers games and through a straw they would do spit balls at people in the building with opposing jerseys. The kids would howl. You never knew just how far my mom would take it all the while, being absolutely classic and refined on the outside. Her students loved her, the fans loved her, her friends loved her, complete strangers would know her for a couple minutes and would love her too. She had the best of all worlds. She had some really incredibly tough times as a child that she carried her whole life, but she didn’t let it stop her from becoming who she was. I’m grateful to my mom for giving me that sense of adventure that capacity to love all the joy of nature and wildlife and music and art and sports. She watched every single Flyers game loved the Eagles and the Phillies , loved how soccer brought the world together. She was absolutely hysterical after one glass of wine, but liked to inform me every time she had one that she really didn’t drink.

K9 BART IS DEAD. K9 Bart sat outside for 36 hours with no water while the man who was supposed to feed him wasn't even home. Madison County, Tennessee. Bart, a German Shepherd just over 2 years old, worked patrol, criminal apprehension, tracking, article searches, and narcotics. Sheriff Julian Wiser says his own handler left him unattended outside for approximately 36 hours with zero access to water while the heat index sat at 101 degrees. A university vet program in Mississippi confirmed it: heat stroke from severe dehydration. Preventable. Wiser used that word himself. The handler got administrative leave, then resigned before anyone could fire him. Now an internal affairs investigation and a criminal investigation are both running, with findings headed to outside authorities. Thirty six hours. This dog worked apprehension, tracking, narcotics, everything asked of him, and the one thing his handler owed him back was a bowl of water and thirty seconds to check on him. He didn't get either. A resignation isn't accountability. Charge him. H/t WBBJ

I will create an Animal Welfare Department in New York State. We must create a hotline to report animal abuse and protect our dogs and cats. My son adopted a beautiful dog, and we need to encourage more pet adoptions across our state!

Under New Jersey law, leading a dogfighting network is a second-degree crime. A person who organizes, supervises, finances, or manages others involved in illegal dogfighting can face 5 to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $150,000.

THIS is what word of mouth just became… A billboard is up in the city. JUSTICE FOR HEEHAW. Not a comment section. Not a group chat. A board the whole town has to drive past. That is what we have been able to do so far. Now make it count. Friday. 8AM. Polk County Courthouse. Cedartown, Georgia. The bodycam is still hidden. The drone tape is still hidden. The COP is still on paid leave! A billboard gets the name in front of people. The right tags get it in front of people who can actually move this. QUOTE this. SHARE the board. TAG people with reach before Friday morning. Let’s actually make a change for once before they walk into that courthouse in silence. Release the footage. Save our pets. They are family. Do NOT let Friday be quiet. @Justice4HeeHaw @FOX5Atlanta @FoxNews @MarioNawfal
SPREAD THIS NOW. Not tomorrow… NOW. Friday 8AM. Polk County Courthouse. Cedartown, Georgia. If this stays quiet tonight, they bury it. If they bury it, they keep the tape. If they keep the tape, that COP walks… HeeHaw was a 1 year old baby donkey. Bottle raised. Slept in the house. Cops walked on that farm at 12:45am with no warning… They tased him. Then they shot him in his own pasture. Then they hid the bodycam. Then they hid the drone tape. Administrative leave. Paid. That’s not justice. That’s a timeout… This is happening to our DOGS every day. Now it’s donkeys. These are our family members! They are counting on you scrolling past this. Do not. SHARE IT. QUOTE IT. TAG PEOPLE WHO HAVE REACH. We need this so loud by Friday morning that they cannot walk into that COURTHOUSE in silence. Release the footage. Bring that COP to account. Make it cost them so the next officer thinks twice before shooting someone’s pet. If we fail HeeHaw, we are telling them the next dog, the next donkey, the next animal in your yard is fair game… SAVE OUR PETS. THEY ARE FAMILY. Show up Friday. Or scream online until the people who can show up do. Do NOT let Friday be quiet. Justice for HeeHaw Release the tape. @MarioNawfal @Justice4HeeHaw @FoxNews @FOX5Atlanta

Michael Parziale, called the Drone Ranger in Manasquan, New Jersey, flies search missions at night and has brought 122 lost animals home without charging the owners. At sixty-four he takes a fleet of eighteen drones, many with thermal cameras, over woods, fields, and streets. In two years the list has included dogs, cats, and one cow. A puppy named Shade had been gone twenty-seven hours. Parziale found him in forty-one minutes. The work runs through his nonprofit, Unmanned Search and Rescue Drone Team, which lives on donations so older and low-income owners are not asked to pay. He also trains military veterans to fly, a skill that can move into surveying, farms, photography, and inspection of roads and pipes. The count is 122 animals found and families who got a call instead of a search that never ended. The method is ordinary equipment used after dark by one person who decided missing pets were a job.

Did you know that the T. rex on display at the Academy of Natural Sciences is a cast of AMNH 5027? What makes this guy so cool is that AMNH 5027 is the T. rex that inspired the logo for Jurassic Park! Keep ANSP open! Keep ANSP in Philadelphia! #SaveANSP
