SHE IS SAFE WITH US FOR NOW. ❤️🐴 This is the same elderly donkey who arrived with those two tiny children. A tractor had run over her leg, and she was in absolute agony. We feared the worst — but thankfully, her X-rays showed NO fracture. ❤️ She was also dehydrated, weak and clearly had not been living in good condition. Since that day, she has been receiving pain relief, fluids, good food, rest and proper veterinary care. And we are going to keep her with us for as long as we possibly can. Even when she improves, we will keep telling her owner, “She still needs treatment.” Another week… another few days… whatever time we can safely buy for her means more rest, more food and more kindness. Right now, she is still frightened of us. When she moved away from me today, I didn't chase her. I gave her space. She needs to learn that nobody here is going to hurt her. ❤️ And I already know what many of you will say: “PLEASE DON'T SEND HER BACK.” Believe me, I understand. But sometimes 10 or 12 working donkeys can arrive for treatment in a single day. If we permanently keep every privately owned animal that comes through our doors, very quickly there will be no space — and no money to care for them all. Food. Treatment. Medicines. Staff. Shelter. Everything costs money. TAWF has a small, incredibly loyal family of supporters who give again and again. We cannot keep asking the same people to carry an ever-growing burden alone. But YOU can help us change that. Please SHARE her story as far and wide as you possibly can. Help us grow this little TAWF family. Because the more helping hands we have, the more animals like her we can protect — and perhaps one day, when you tell us, “Don't send her back,” we'll be able to say: “WE WON'T.” ❤️🐴 ❤️ Donate: tawf.org.uk/donate
