Did you know the team behind The Case of the Golden Idol also co-created a Fallout 1-inspired retro space RPG? AND that my soundtrack for it contributed to a Best Audio Design Nomination at Latvian Game Awards? 🔥
That game is SPACE WRECK and this past weekend it celebrated its 3rd birthday! ❤️🔥 @pahrislv
@ErnestsKlavins, co-creator of Golden Idol franchise known for his iconic art for the game, was also a co-creator and a Lead Artist on Space Wreck, while @AndrejsKlavins, co-creator of Golden Idol franchise too, laid the foundation for the game's core RPG mechanics.
That said, the story, concept, game design and programming came from the very talented Mārtiņš Ceplis @Kamazs , with whom I had the great pleasure working directly on the game's soundtrack.
Speaking of the OST - I was composing for Space Wreck at the exact same time as The Case of the Golden Idol, hence for me these two projects will always be inevitably intertwined, despite tackling completely different genres.
Beyond the Best Audio Design nomination, Space Wreck went on to win the Indie Category at the Game Development World Championship, and got nominated for Game of the Year, Best Game Design, and Best Artistic Design at the Latvian Game Awards.
To commemorate 3 years since release and honor its awards and legacy - I’m hyped to share the full soundtrack continuous mix with you today ❤️🔥❤️🔥
Ok, this is easily the most epic way I've ever been announced on a project (despite the candles, I'm very much alive btw xD)
Huge thanks to the team at Absolute Tenebra for dropping this awesome welcome on Instagram, and congratulations on releasing the official reveal trailer yesterday! ❤️🔥🔥
Composing the trailer track was the first time I was given David Lynch & Dario Argento as primary references. Diving deep into the soundtracks for Eraserhead & Profondo Rosso was both deeply educational, disturbing & strangely inspirational.. Blending those influences with my own flavor - I'm really proud of how this one turned out 🖤
Hear, hear! 🥂 Yesterday marked 1 year since the release of the latest Golden Idol Series entry - The Curse of the Last Reaper 🕵️❤️🔥
Composing this soundtrack brought back quite a wave of nostalgia as it unlocked so many memories of working on the very first game's OST back in Lviv, Ukraine.
Given Reaper's close ties to the Case of the Golden Idol, I wanted the soundtrack to reflect that as well, and so I've included a couple of easter eggs across the tracks effectively closing the chapter on both the original game's soundtrack narrative and my contribution to the series as a whole.
It has also been so rewarding to hear how the score and my craft evolved right alongside the franchise.
They say a detective shouldn't get emotionally attached to the case, but I can't help but confess I've fallen in love with this series - what a journey it has been working on it with @ColorGray7 & @PlaystackGames alongside @AndrejsKlavins, @ErnestsKlavins , Nathan Hicken & Will Ackerman❤️🔥
Full soundtrack available now on YouTube 🔥🎶
Case closed!

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to the Good Game Dev Mini Fest at Loading Bar last night and to @harveyrae for making it happen! ❤️🔥 Very much enjoyed dj-ing for you guys after the awesome talks from Andrew, Nick & Kyra! Sharing the set & more pics next week! 😎
Yep, this is me at roughly 6 years old playing my dad's PC in my hometown of Ozerne in Ukraine circa 2002 :D It was also on this PC that I was running mob errands while secretly playing the strictly mom-prohibited GTA Vice City, which brings back a few classic stories:
• BIGBANG / PANZER / ASPIRINE
• asking classmates how the hell they beat that RC helicopter level at the construction site
• not understanding almost ANYTHING of the plot because I didn't even speak English yet xD
• asking grandfather to give me 3-5 hryvnias to play it at the LAN computer club in Ovruch for 30 minutes
• promising mom I wouldn't play it while staying home sick, playing it anyway, and getting caught when she checked how warm the PC was (felt totally busted that day)
• also promising her I wasn't going to run over people
Along with a few other stories that I look forward to sharing with you during my playthrough tomorrow at 4 pm BST 😎
Perfect way to wrap up the summer + we're just a few months before GTA VI comes out, so yeh, see you then! 🔥🔥🌴🌴☀️☀️
It's official!🔥🥳🎉 VGM, Frutiger Aero, Wii, Y2K, 90s & 2000s vibes are coming to one of London's coolest industry hangouts at the @LoadingBar next week as I'm stepping in behind the decks for the Good Game Dev mini Fest organised by @harveyrae ! 🎛️🎶
Alongside excellent talks lined up from industry pros like Andrew Smith from @SpiltMilkStudio, Nick McKenzie from @State_of_Play and Kyra Chan - it's going to be a night to remember! See you then 🔥😎

As this incredible summer is coming to a close - I gift you the most legendary loot.. my video game dj set recorded live during last year's Develop Brighton Conference at the Good Game Dev Club / Loading Bar❤️🔥
From Jet Set Radio, Pacman, Fantavision, Xenosaga Freaks, Deus Ex, to Serani Poji, Aqua, classic 90s house and phonk remixes of Angry Birds and Maxwell Cat - this is my current definition of a video game party🔥
This is hands down the MOST ambitious set I've ever put together as far as video game music realm goes. I went through many VGM mixes and soundtracks to find high-energy, danceable house music-like-tunes (which turned out way harder than I thought :D ... so 2000s PS games - thank you), selecting the perfect order in which to play the tracks and practicing transitions ❤️🔥
Enjoy! 🔥☀️
P.S. - oh, and if by any chance you were there - thank you for tuning in! Definitely planning to record more sets like these going forward 😎
P.P.S. - thank you Fernanda for putting together the promo art! ^^
Super exciting!! ^^^^^^ ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
