After most likely 100 interactions of the app. My Supplement app has finally been approved to go to the App Store. Link in 🧵
I had the original idea long before ai I simply wanted a way for people to get good reliable supplement advice. It literally took days of research to find the right supplements for the job.
And you were quite honestly taking strangers’ lists from the internet most of the time. I’m pretty sure most of these lists were sponsored by the supplement brands themselves.
I really wanted a good way to know what supplements works best for what purpose as well as what worked well together. The other aspect was knowing what interactions they may have with medication. Which no one was really talking about at the time.
Then comes ai and I thought, now I have a way to serve the information if it can research the entire internet. Then I began the process of trying to figure out how to get an app made. Turns out still at the time it was super expensive and not something I could afford.
Finally the last piece of the puzzle arrived with vibecoding. I was able to create the app in finally wanted. But then the thought of it just not being right came and I kept remaking the app over and over.
Finally I joined @shipordie_ which forced me to bring the app to life and finally submit to the App Store. I have been vibecoding since April of ‘25 and I now finally have the app of my dreams built. It’s not perfect and there’s plenty to improve. But it’s something and that’s what counts.
To think of the train I was on moving from platform to platform. Just to give you an idea of the transitions I had made.
I tried @Replit and them @Lovable which at the time weren’t doing mobile apps. Then my wife happened to stumble upon @vibecodeapp_ which was my first glimpse at the app. I tried @rork @anything @bolt and a slew of others as well.
So a big thanks to everyone along the journey, and especially @marclou and @jackfriks for the kick in the ass I needed. And if you read the entire thing thanks for that as well. Check out my app im thrilled it’s finally a reality. Now on to marketing.
grok bot is on the iphone action button now
one press and you're talking to your bot. no app, no typing
i think that changes how often people use these more than any new model
i've got a few grok bots doing boring jobs for me. site checks, dm watching, an x coach
the hard part for most people isn't what bots can do. it's remembering to ask
what's the first thing you'd ask yours with one button?
everyone's hyped that grok bot can book your dinner and haggle your internet bill
my bots do the boring stuff
one checks my sites every morning
one coaches me on x
one watches my dms
none of them get to post, send, or spend anything without my yes
not because they're bad at it
3 kids is enough surprises for one house
where's your line? what would you let an agent do with zero check-in?
today i leaned into replying instead of posting
i jumped in early on posts from big accounts while they were still taking off
those replies got way more eyes than my own posts. one reply on testingcatalog got 178 views. my originals sat around 60
and i went from about 579 followers to 596 today
not big numbers. but i'm a dad of 3 with a day job, building 2 to 6am while the kids sleep. i don't have hours to shout into the void
one of my grok bots coaches me on x, and it kept saying the same thing: go where people already are
so that's the plan. show up early, say something useful, get back to building
if your time is short, where do you spend it online?
