We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

one thing i noticed after a month of calls with designers is a weird generation gap between people who are scared of ai and people who are excited about it
you would expect younger designers to be more into ai, but it’s often the opposite. the most excited people i meet have been in design for 12+ years
designers with about 5 years of experience came into a world that was stable: big design teams, enterprise jobs, high salaries, and a slow process of design systems and jira tasks. ai is a huge risk if you define design work around components. it’s pure production, it needs to be automated, and it was an anomaly from the start
people who started 12+ years ago saw a design world without any of that. small freelance gigs, low pay, and no way to do 3d or animation on your own. but they had a lot of ideas, and that’s why they came. they worked in photoshop cs3 and indesign and downloaded brushes from the internet
now design is going back to what it should be. not a huge layer of production, but meaning, purpose and form

"Product" means working backward from an interface.
The interface -- human, API, CLI -- is where the value happens.

Scientists found a way to flush Alzheimer’s plaque out of the brain in minutes.
Without any surgery and drugs.
Your brain has a waste-clearance network called the glymphatic system. It flushes out toxic proteins and dead cells.
But it only really activates during deep, slow-wave sleep.
If you don't sleep, the trash piles up. Over time, that buildup leads to cognitive decline and Alzheimer's.
Until today.
Researchers just published a paper proving they can manually trigger this cleaning cycle.
Without you ever going to sleep.
They used 40.68 MHz ultrashort waves (USW) beamed non-invasively into the brain.
Within 10 minutes, the brain's fluid flow rapidly accelerated.
The waves artificially synchronized the neurons into a Delta state, the exact frequency of deep sleep. This forced the brain's water channels to open and start flushing out the system.
They tested it on mice with traumatic brain injuries and Alzheimer's pathology.
The brain swelling dropped. The toxic proteins were cleared out. Cognitive deficits actually improved.
No surgery. No massive chemical interventions. Just a frequency.

Palmer Luckey warns America cannot compete with China’s population advantage forever through innovation alone: “We need 1 BILLION Americans minimum. Probably more like 2 or 3 billion.” 🇺🇸🇨🇳
“Yes, we need to get our act together. We need to do better at manufacturing, at defense, all these things. But everything is just biting around the margins if we’re 350 million people and they’re 2 billion people who are roughly the same.
How exceptional do we have to be to achieve a 10-to-1 ratio forever, in perpetuity? It’s not practical. It’s not logical.
I would say it’s even possibly a racist thing to believe that we can be so much better than China and the Chinese people that we’ll just beat them with a tiny fraction of the population.
We need to do better with what we’ve got. But we also just need a lot more people. We need 1 billion Americans minimum, probably more like 2 or 3 billion, with better demographics and better natural resources.
The Dutch once had the most powerful navy in the world. They didn’t lose that position because they fell behind on factories or shipbuilding. They became economically irrelevant.”
Both countries are competing with respect to declining birth rates. Both nations must be more willing to have children and expand the population growth exponentially over the next decade. The current economic path is unsustainable if our labor force begins to shrink even with artificial intelligence on the rise.

We’ve officially reached the point where it’s easier & takes less time to deliver a fully coded app to a client than it does to design it by hand in Figma.
As a host, this is generally a good thing. No guest should be required. We do politely ask to load dishes and take out garbage, but it's never a requirement.

Directing Claude Code into production Figma only works because two things were already true.
The design system was built and perfected by humans first.
And I can articulate direction after 20 years of briefing designers.
Take away either one and it produces junk. Keep both and it's shipping.

In the last 24 hours:
1. iPhone 11 through 16 are apparently vulnerable to remote attacks.
2. SSL certificates are broken until browsers remove eMudhra CA.
3. PHP >9 vulnerability CVE published (tomorrow).
The world is about to witness things that have never been seen before.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The post's iPhone claim is inaccurate; a leaked Cellebrite forensic tool targets a Bluetooth bug patched in iOS 26.5 and does not affect updated devices. The eMudhra CA and PHP issues are real incidents but framed sensationally.

I have a pretty standard strengths and weaknesses question I use in design interviews. It’s aimed at getting genuine self-reflection out of candidates, while also determining their perspective on design. I’d say 90% answer their strength is “talking to users” or “strategy”. 🤦♂️
It’s kinda dumb how much appending “make it incredible” to a prompt in Claude or Codex improves the output.
