Hidden Grottos are a great way to snag some Pokemon with good IVs and hidden ability early on. First time I actually engaged with the feature was in Pokemon Polished Crystal. Great hack btw.

PokeRadar lets you hunt for specific Pokemon you've already seen. Running in the tall grass makes wild Pokemon notice you and run away. Sneak up on them to get a chance to catch them. A longer streak = better stats, hidden abilities and higher chance at a shiny.
