Gonna put this quote here and remind myself:
“For those who believe, no explanation is necessary; for those who do not believe, no explanation will ever be enough.”
I’m tired. You can keep coming at me if it makes you feel accomplished. I’m not new at this art thing, and I’m too old to fight this hard. My work will continue to speak for itself. And if I choose to experiment again and it triggers people, so be it. Artists have the right to play & try new things, and “AI Accusations” shouldn’t be a reason to scare them into staying in a box.
I urge people to look up videos explaining how to spot “ai” and how “ai accusations” is a thing.

❤️🩹 I also will no longer be entertaining people coming here with the intention of discrediting my work.
On that note. I hope everyone enjoyed their Anthrocon event and had a great 4th of July weekend!

😈🍆 With all that warmup, it's no surprise this hyena got a little enthusiastic towards the end!

The con book isn't ai, the cover art was made by KwiK, they've been an active artist in the community for years now and is definitely a victim of their art being used to train ai xitter.cf/i/status/2073562486595…
Welp! Since I didn't think to timelapse the Anthrocon conbook cover ( it's not something I usually do ), I went ahead and drew another cryptic creature from start to finish instead.
I uploaded the full timelapse to the dropbox folder with the finished piece. As I mentioned before, this style was completely outside of what I normally draw, with sharper line-work and rendering choices. I was aiming for that bold, cryptic-inspired look, and it was an interesting challenge to tackle.
Hopefully this helps show exactly how I work and puts any AI concerns to rest. I've been drawing for many years and my gallery reflects my journey from the beginning till now. I've spent years building my skills, learning, experimenting, and growing my reputation as an artist. I love creating and playing and I want to continue to do so without the worry that every new technique or style change will be mistaken for AI.
I don't want to be afraid to try something new. Ever. I guess the moral of this story is.... I should probably start saving WIPS and record more timelapses in this day and age. 😂
Traditional work before digital. I miss those days 🥲❤️🩹 One of my many drawings on this journey. All pencil work. ✏️

ℹ️ Hey all, there have been some complaints and posts through the weekend regarding false claims of AI usage. Our team has made a small statement. TL;DR AI slop sucks, we don't do it, and we appreciate those that inform us about wrongful usage.

False AI callouts are becoming a real problem.
Bad AI art should get flagged, but artists also need room to have a clean style without a witch hunt.

Wow… guess this is a thing now? I feel their pain.🥲❤️🩹
I hope everyone is having an amazing time at Anthrocon 2026! Unfortunately I couldn't make it this year, but I was incredibly honored to be part of the art staff and create artwork for such a special anniversary.
I woke up today to find out that someone on ( X ) Twitter was claiming the conbook cover was AI-generated, and from there people started looking through my gallery and questioning other pieces—even simple T-shirt designs. I wanted to clear the air.
I've been drawing for many years, long before AI existed. Every sketch, editing choice, color, highlight, and shadow in the Anthrocon artwork was drawn and painted by me.
One thing people may not know is that I've been intentionally pushing myself to improve. I've spent the last few years studying lighting, rendering, and different coloring techniques because I don't want my art to stay the same forever. I remember changing my style years ago and hearing that it "didn't look like my art." Growth as an artist can sometimes surprise people.
For the conbook cover, my original concept was much simpler. I was asked to push it toward more of a "Hyena Agenda" style with a stronger cryptid aesthetic, so I challenged myself to create something that fit that vision while stepping outside my comfort zone.
I've also noticed other artists in this year's conbook receiving similar accusations, which is honestly disheartening. It can make trying new things feel risky when experimentation is met with suspicion instead of curiosity.
I completely understand why people are cautious about AI, but I also hope we remember that trying a new style or rendering technique doesn't automatically mean AI was involved. False accusations can be incredibly discouraging for artists who have spent years developing their craft.
Above all, I hope we continue supporting one another as artists. Please give artists the chance to grow, experiment, and evolve before assuming the worst. Many of us have spent years—even decades—learning our craft, and a little kindness and trust can go a long way.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my work over the years. It truly means more than you know. ❤️
