Families in Gre usually depend on the markets in low-lying areas along the Trishuli River for food. Unfortunately, flooding washed everything away, leaving entire communities without access to daily necessities. WCK is making regular helicopter deliveries to Gre to distribute staples like rice and oil, alongside other necessities like soap, to make sure residents have what they need as they recover. #ChefsForNepal

Some communities have been cut off since the flash floods struck—unreachable by road or helicopter. So WCK assembled a team of experienced explorers who will drive as far as the terrain allows before trekking the rest of the way on foot. They're carrying essential medical supplies and meals, because no community should be left behind just because it's hard to reach. The knowledge we gain from this expedition will also help us map out areas where helicopters can deliver additional supplies—expanding our reach even further. We will keep you posted. #ChefsForNepal

#NEPAL | One of the rockiest rides of my life.
On the way from Trishuli to Rasuwa, the road itself tells the story of this catastrophe. Roads ripped apart. Bridges destroyed. Entire stretches cut off by the flash floods.
Nepal Govt says more than 11,000 people have been rescued. In badly-hit Rasuwa, power has been restored to about 30% of households, while six 48-metre Bailey bridges and a 70-metre bridge are being deployed to reconnect communities cut off by destroyed infrastructure.
But there is another desperate search underway.
Rescue crews are looking for hundreds of workers believed trapped inside hydropower tunnels after mud flooded the sites. More than 900 workers are still missing across various projects.
And so, the journey to Rasuwa is not just a journey through a damaged road. It is a journey through the scale of what this flood has done to Nepal.
