Some social media handles are claiming that female protesters were subjected to physical assault.
These allegations are baseless and misleading. Female protesters are handled by female staff and are treated with dignity and due regard.
Detentions and releases are carried out in accordance with the applicable law and prescribed procedures. Male protesters who were detained were released within the stipulated time period, following due process of law.
Any claim suggesting otherwise is factually incorrect and does not reflect the actual sequence of events.

Ratna Singh (@whattalawyer) questions the police response to Rosie’s alleged molestation complaint, saying an FIR should have been lodged when she approached the Parliament Street Police Station.
She questions why Rosie was asked to show video evidence before the complaint could be registered, while stressing that they are not making a judgment on the allegation itself. Ratna Singh says the matter will be taken to court and refers to the Supreme Court’s position on registration of FIRs in cognisable offences.
She also speaks about the October 10 call to the government, including demands concerning Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation, criminal action, rollback of SIR and changes to the process of appointing Election Commissioners.

CJI Surya Kant clarifies that Supreme Court has not approved any modified version of Form 6 used for inclusion of names in electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
The observation comes during the hearing of a petition seeking suspension and prosecution of CEC Gyanesh Kumar.
ECI had last week claimed that the new declaration annexed to the online Form 6 for the ongoing SIR process in some states was approved by the Supreme Court.
‘Any modified Form 6 has not been approved by us. Let’s be clear. When the record is produced, we would like to see who has modified,” CJI observes.

Sr Adv Menaka Guruswamy: Let me give you an illustration, since it pertains most recently to Delhi. Let us see how the SIR was conducted in Delhi. Form 6 has two new conditions added. The modified Form 6 was circulated.
The Schedule to the RPA contains Form 6. It cannot be modified in this manner.

Gyanesh lied. @ECISVEEP’s press note of 26/9 said modified Form 6 was upheld by Supreme Court. Chief Justice in court today said unequivocally that NO modification had been okayed by Bench. Chor cannot escape immunity. He needs to go. And Modi needs to go.
