Happy World Teachers’ Day! 🍎
Today is for the educators who keep showing up with patience, creativity, humor, flexibility, and a thousand small decisions that help students learn.
The work is not always easy, and a lot of it happens quietly behind the scenes.
But the impact reaches far beyond a single lesson.
Thank you to the teachers who make classrooms feel worth coming back to every day.

When you remove the microscope, fear vanishes. In its place, people bring genuine ownership, creativity, and energy you could never mandate in an SOP.

The best leaders:
Know themselves.
Lead with humility.
Balance support and challenge.
Lead intentionally.
Are secure enough to serve.
Call people up, not out.
Stay connected to their people.
Believe in the vision, the team and themselves.
Be worth following.

Yesterday's success or failure shouldn't determine today's effort. You don't give up when you lose, you don't get complacent when you win.
You keep showing up, keep doing the work.

If you set the culture in the first two weeks of school, you create positive experiences so when others walk away, they carry the banner for you and your organization.

As you begin another school year, remember that you may never fully know your impact.
You may never know that greeting a student at the door helped them feel like they belonged.
That learning their name let them know they mattered.
That noticing their talent helped them see something in themselves they had never seen before.
That giving them another chance showed them that one mistake did not define them.
That checking on a colleague made their day a little better.
Most impact does not happen in one dramatic moment. It happens in the small things you do consistently, often without realizing how much they mean.
And you know my motto:
“Relationships before rigor. Grace before grades. Patience before programs. Love before lessons.”
These words reflect the humanity of education. As you offer grace, patience, and love to your students and colleagues this year, remember to also be patient with yourself, show yourself grace, and love yourself. This will be your best year yet

The RRE team @FranklinISD kicked off by getting out of our comfort zone and “reaching for the stars” to set some attainable action steps to meet a goal. Participants discussed what they would do tomorrow, in a month, a year, and finally the intended outcome at year 5. Take off!

Your reputation is shaped partly by conversations you will never hear.
Strong colleagues do more than celebrate your work. They correct misinformation, push back on unfair judgments, protect your integrity, and advocate for you when decisions are being made without you.
That is not networking. That is trust.

Most people are carrying more than they show.
The short reply. The tired face. The missed deadline. The student who seems checked out. The coworker who is quieter than usual. It is easy to make a story in our head about what it means.
But we usually do not know the whole story.
Kindness does not fix everything, but it can keep us from adding weight to someone who is already carrying plenty. Sometimes the most human thing we can do is slow down, assume less, and choose a little more grace.

Just like we should find any reason to build up a student we need to do the same to encourage, support, and show teachers that they are seen, valued, and loved ❤️💪🏻

Stop asking for permission to matter.
You don’t need a hall pass to act.
