Ade emailed. He said he’d heard about the shooting in Manchester, and had been in creative writing class and written this. He said I could share it if I liked it.
For those who don’t know. Ade lost a friend in 2020, something he hasn’t been able to grieve for because 6 months

Conditions on an @AvantiWestCoast train from Euston to Glasgow. Temperatures over 30, ridiculously high CO2. This after moving from an even hotter carriage. Staff on board and at the station wonderful without exception, but the conditions provided by the train operator are poor.
And @northernassist, Oxenholme to Windermere even worse. Again, staff were brilliant and the conditions were poor. @NorthenrailF

I'm attending a marriage today. You might ask why it deserve a tweet. Well groom is dead actually. And bride is dead too. Like about 30 years ago.
And their marriage is today. For those who are not accustomed to traditions of Dakshina Kannada this might sound funny. But (contd) – at Mangalore, India

Fair play to @iainoverton for this open letter to US ambassador Hartley on the ongoing ordeal of imprisoned journalist Julian #Assange. Something has gone very wrong when war crimes go unpunished, but those who expose them are jailed and forgotten. bylinetimes.com/2022/07/26/j…

It’s not called suicide when most of the world wants climate action, and 1% of it is stopping us. It’s murder.

When climate change deniers say we had a heatwave like this in 1976 show them this.
We shouldn't have political leaders debating whether to abandon Net Zero 2050 commitments.
In fact we need to get there much much faster.
We need to treat climate change as the emergency it is.

More that 59°C was measured on the soil surface in Spain 🇪🇸 and 48°C in the south on France 🇫🇷.
This is not « just summer ».
It is « just hell » and will pretty soon become « just the end of human life » if we continue with our climate inaction.

Love it.

Long shot, but a women on LBC says her birth mum, Elizabeth Hicks, lived on Theobald Road, Highbury Corner in 60s/ 70s in London.
She was adopted and is trying to find her, can we share far and wide? I’ve got a fair few followers, so it’s worth a bash.
