The explanation why FF VII Revelation is #PhysicalFraud is complete and utter BS. First, people would be ok with slight compromises. Second, we sincerely doubt that it would exceed 200 GB of size, especially given PlayStation's powerful compression. Third, use a third disc, if.

As confirmed earlier through our official channels, in mid-June of this year, we unexpectedly received notice from PlayStation Studios that they would cancel the PHYSINT project. PHYSINT is an important project both to me personally and to KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. Determined to keep the project alive, we have spent the last three months searching tirelessly for a new partner. In the course of seeking advice and pursuing negotiations with people across many fields, we found in XBOX a partner with whom we share a common vision for the future, and we have decided to team up with them once again. Please rest assured that development of PHYSINT, our genre-defining action-espionage title, is ongoing and will continue moving forward.

Sadly, we’ve decided to stop our daily countdown to January 1, 2028, the date Sony has announced for the end of physical disc production.
This isn’t the end of our fight for physical gaming—it’s simply a change in how we’re going to fight.
We’re going to shift more of our efforts behind the scenes, where we believe our time and energy can have a more tangible impact. We loved making these daily posts, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who followed along, shared them, debated them, and supported the message.
Our posts certainly stirred up a lot of controversy and conversation, but at the end of the day, we need to focus on what VGP does best: getting physical games into gamers’ hands.
We’ll leave the daily updates and news to the many great people who continue to cover and advocate for physical gaming.
We sincerely hope Sony finds a compromise before the January 1, 2028 cutoff—one that allows physical gaming to continue in some form.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who continues to support VGP and physical gaming. ❤️
