My HOA fined me $500 because my trash can was visible from the street for one day after garbage pickup. I paid it. Two weeks later, the HOA president knocked on my door. A storm had damaged his fence, and he asked if i could move my truck so contractors could park in my driveway while they repaired it. I politely said no. He reminded me that neighbors should help each other. I reminded him that he could’ve shown the same understanding when he fined me over a trash can. Now the neighborhood says i’m holding a grudge.
