Selling sucks.
It really and truly does.
I don't care if it's $5 widgets, a $5,000 website, or a $5M technical project.
Selling anything, to anyone, is hard.
At least it is for me.

Nobody hires the best plumber in the city.
They hire the first one who picks up.
So, uh...yah...Omarchy is crazy.
So damn fast, at everything. I'm kind of blown away.
Thanks @ryancarson for the push. ;)

Compound Engineering 3.17 it out.
- `ce-code-review` had some blind spots that are now fixed. Consistently catches more cases and has your back covered.
- a few places where unattended long runs with ce-work or lfg would silently hang waiting for input they'd never get. Your multi-hour runs are now protected!
- `ce-debug` gets better with how it updates your test cases when fixing issues and will automatically kick off code simplification and code review when warranted.
Founders keep asking whether AI can replace their product.
I think they’re asking the wrong question.
The real question is whether AI makes investors believe your product is easier to replace.
Those aren’t the same thing.
Here’s why:

The biggest upheaval to work in our lifetime is here.
Joe Hudson (@FU_joehudson) coaches the research team at @OpenAI (along with @sama and leaders across Apple and Google), and from that front-row seat, has noticed the people doing best in these AI-forward environments aren't winning for the reasons you'd expect.
It's not more knowledge or more effort. Those are the exact two things AI does best.
Instead, they win on "emotional clarity": staying in hard conversations, not turning on themselves (and others) when things get tough, and pushing forward through failure.
In today's incredible guest post, Joe shows you exactly how to build this skill within yourself and your team.
Inside:
+ How AI is changing work: the NBA-ification of teams
+ The new inner game: the "wisdom stack" that will set you apart
+ How to build a team that can metabolize fear

I built something small this week.
A personal tool that reads my meeting transcripts and gives me feedback.
How clearly I communicate.
What people respond to.
Where trust grows.
Where it drops.
What lands.
What gets ignored.
It took about a day and a half to build.
Tools that help you see yourself more clearly.
Tools that give you feedback loops you never had.
And the best part is how personal these tools can be.
Small systems built by individuals.
Low cost.
High leverage.
If this took a day and a half, I wonder what else can be turned into insight.
What small tool could you build for yourself?
If you want to take a look, I'll randomly let a handful of people in to try the app ( I'd let everyone in, but API costs are a real thing yo ).

1. A tool that solves one problem brilliantly for a narrow audience beats a polished GPT wrapper every time. The ones holding $50+ price points? They own the time-value trade, not the "we used Claude" story.
3. Taste is becoming an actual moat. Not UI polish, that's also table stakes now. I mean the thinking behind every decision. The UX flow that feels made for you. The copy. The defaults. That's hard to replicate with AI alone. People will pay for this.
