You can help middle schoolers preserve existing friendships and understand that moving on from old friendships and creating new ones is a natural part of life. 🧡
Here's how to teach students the difference between conflict and bullying: edut.to/3FMlzhH

ALT Did You Know? In sixth grade, only a third of friendships endure through the school year, research shows. By 12th grade, just 1 percent of middle school friendships remain intact. Most friendships aren't built to last. To help kids preserve existing friendships, consider letting close friends chat and work together periodically, while also helping middle schoolers understand that moving on from old friendships and creating new ones is just a natural part of life. Acts of kindness that feel small to us have a big impact on others.
Research: kids and adults underestimate how tiny acts of generosity lift others' moods.
There's no easier way to make someone's day than to offer a compliment, give a little gift, or send a handwritten note.

It’s easy to feel that our children’s mistakes are a reflection on us. Too many parents think “If my kid does this, it’s a reflection of me as a parent. I need to ensure that they don’t do these things.” Instead, the healthier approach is: @jlythcotthaims
