Grok Voice 3 or ElevenLabs' new Eleven Realtime for an after-hours voice agent?

Want flat, predictable per-minute pricing → Grok Voice 3.
Already on ElevenLabs Agents → test Realtime Max.

Compliance: xAI says its voice APIs are HIPAA-eligible (BAA), SOC 2 Type II, with EU residency options. Eleven: Max works under HIPAA/Zero Retention (US/EU), Mini doesn't.
Availability: Grok Voice 3 is GA in the API. Eleven Realtime is rolling out gradually.
My take: vendor benchmarks are close, so decide on what you can test. Run the same 20 real after-hours calls (bookings, transfers, odd questions) through both, then compare cost per completed booking.

ElevenLabs launched two speech-to-speech voice-agent models today: Eleven Realtime v1 Mini and Max.
If you run an after-hours voice agent for a small business, the choice is simple:
Booking, CRM or other tool calls → Max.
Simple FAQ and message-taking → Mini.
Limits before you switch:
- Mini isn't available under HIPAA or Zero Retention Mode. Max is (US/EU).
- Agents on a custom LLM or Amazon Bedrock must stay in Custom mode.
- Rolling out gradually, not every workspace has it yet.
- Benchmarks come from the vendor's launch post.
Cost: the standard per-minute agent rate plus tokens, and Max costs more per token than Mini.
If you're already on OpenAI's Realtime API, it's compatible: change the endpoint and model name.

Start a contract log and it tracks how much stipend is left each week, then nudges you before the contract ends.
Google's own workaround: move impacted workloads to another zone or region, if feasible. That only works if you planned for it.
