In Memory of Randolph “Randy” Mantooth
Randy Goes on one last run with his lifelong friend and co-star Kevin Tighe inside Squad 51.
On October 17th, a Flag Ceremony was held at Station 127 (Station 51) as Randy left the station for the last time.
Rest easy, Johnny.

This old video is blowing up randomly on youtube so I figured I'd share with X.
I was taking photos today at historic Oak Woods Cemetery on the south side of Chicago. A staff member asked people to move their cars. I picked another spot. I was engrossed in what I was doing but heard clicking.
Someone was having a horse-drawn carriage funeral (stock photo below, not mine). This one had 2 white horses followed by 50 cars, not sure who passed.

Ditka dies on Friday, White Sox are reverse swept on Saturday, the Bears lay an egg in Lambeau Sunday, and now the Pope has cancer. Hard not to take personally
I took a tour today of Soldier Field in Chicago (set up for Fire soccer, not @ Bears). It was a beautiful 86 degree day, got some great lakefront photos from the Skyline deck. Indiana visible today.

Memories from February 1986, shortly after the @ChicagoBears won Super Bowl XX. Photos donated to Brookfield Zoo Chicago.
This was my cat Meggie, who I lost the same day that Steve Jobs died, on this day in 2011.
She was born the day the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, so she was nearly 22 (18 in this photo though).

Take a gander at these vintage book covers. 📚
Some of our late-19th- and early-20th-century books have decorated spines and cloth binding, making them easily recognizable in our collections.
Do you recognize any of the titles?

The pre-1978 index to the U.S. copyright records sits in the James Madison Memorial Building in Washington, D.C.
I have been donated this entire card catalog found in a Virginia warehouse.
