"Major tech firms don’t make big bets on fads"
Did you ever hear of a thing called Metaverse..
“AI has provided ‘zero payoff’ to corporate America outside of the technology sector, according to Apollo Global Management Chief Economist Torsten Slok.”
What Slok and many others are missing is that the massive boosts in software creation and reasoning are elemental, and can be extended across all knowledge work (work in front of a computer) and then across any work that requires intelligence over 5-10 years, and eventually manual labor and dexterity as it’s the software that’s holding back robots from being useful. Astra and upcoming robot foundation models will change this.
Major tech firms don’t make big bets on fads and herding-they’re just the first to see the productivity boosts (revenue per employee sharply up) and this will extend to the Fortune 1000 over 5-10 years.

LLMs are SO POWERFUL they traveled back in time to boost productive growth a few years before ChatGPT even launched:

Amazing.
The worst people on the left end of the political horseshoe scapegoat Wall Street for high housing costs.
The worst people on the right scapegoat immigrants.
Both claims spectacularly fail empirically.
And here’s JD to claim both ends and unite the worst people.
Q: How does the right and yourself expect us to start families young when the average price of a home in America costs more than $415,000 which feels out of reach for us.
Vance: The reason why housing exploded is in part because we allowed 20 million illegal aliens into our country to buy homes that ought by right go to American citizens.
The most amazing thing about this cycle is not the advancement of technology...actually it is the availability of risk capital to finance the advancement of tgat said technology...that is the alpha in regime terms. Think about that for a second.
Humans in the loop, it seems, is really bad for cyber security. May be that is why we need godzilla agents.
I don't know about where you live...but my god..the weather in NY NJ has been fabulous the last few weeks....
This idolization of NYC is just plain ridiculous..
Great city...with all its warts...
Yeah yeah...I am a bridge and tunnels guy...whatever...
Love the place..but let us not go overboard.
I planted a fresh batch of astilbes axweek ago...
Happy to report that the initial indications are...and it is very very early...that i may have solved my astilbe planting skill issue...
Very encouraging
Seems to me that this AI driven productivity growth benchmarking is sensational but totally fruitless and somewhat useless exercise...
There are two ingredients....real growth rate...and labor input.
How hard is it to figure out at an economy wide Level that the needle hasn't moved much...fancy graphs and sectoral analysis notwithstanding...
If you have ever grown Dahlias, especially the rare one...the best thing about Fall...is you get to see the size of your tuber clumps...
Its like owning a doodle and awaiting the size of the litter...
Size of the flower impresses your friends...size of the clump with active eyes pleases your soul.
If you have a shaded area, the one plant that takes on like nothing else is vinca minors...you will love it...and then regret it...as to how aggressive these plants are...at par with mint.
For large hostas, daylight nursery is the best. Available on Walmart.
I have paid 3 times more for other vendors...and may be a third took off.
My biggest challenge and disappointment has been astilbes.
Due to a shaded backyard, I must have planted a few hundreds of them over the last two years and I have zero flowers to show for them so far.
But I keep planting more...hoping the shade gods will smile once and I will call it a day.
Next year when I plant petunias, I am 100 pct going with supertunias irrespective of their initial cost...
Head heading is a total chore...I need to avoid it all expense...because it's not feasible for a person with a job in the summer.
Regular garden store petunias were great...until late summer. Fall is even worse.
If you are into gardening the two places I have had most success with are blue perennial and day Lilly nursery. I must have ordered them from 20 online stores.
