Glen Bolger @posglen was my first boss in Washington. My interview was short. As I walked out, he said, “Don’t screw this up.” I was 22 and took it very seriously. It didn’t take long to realize it was classic Glen - dry wit delivered with a straight face.
As his research assistant, I spent my time turning endless polling crosstabs into charts, trying to figure out what the numbers actually meant. Glen, along with Mike Hamilton and Jim Burton, taught me how to do that.
Glen also taught me how to write. Every polling slide needed a headline. I wanted to explain every nuance. Glen forced me to distill it. That made me a better writer, a sharper strategist, and it's a lesson I still rely on every day. I worked on races at every level across the country, and Glen was my tutor Â
As happens in life, we hadn’t been in touch for a number of years. Then last year I ran into him at a butcher. He was picking up steaks for a family celebration. I got to introduce him to my wife, Sara, and our son, Price. Without missing a beat, he smirked, turned to my son and asked, “Is the Price right?” He was the same Glen.
I’ll always be grateful for what he taught me.  Rest in peace, Glen.
I first met @posglen about a month after I came to Washington as a political consultant. Our first meeting was somewhat curt. He gave me advice on pitching business, without me asking. I was too dumb to ask, as he was an outstanding pitcher. We both built books of biz in Virginia, among other places, & over the next 27 years we worked together on a bunch of races, and won almost all of them - which I can't say about many people. As today's young people come into our business, I hate they cannot learn the urgency Glen had. More than anyone I have met in our line of work, he did not let grass grow under his feet. In his hey day, you'd be on the phone with him and he'd say something like: "gotta go; the congressman in Syracuse just retired so I'm heading to the airport." And he would hang up immediately. He won some work because he was good, and some work because he got there first. He was similarly capable of swift decisions in campaigns, without second-guessing. It was a great and radical lesson, and one I do not follow often enough. Late in his life, Glen spent a lot of time touring the world with his wife, Carol, and luckily he took pictures and wrote a blog about it so we could "go" with them. I think he got through his bucket list - and as a 56 year old, I will try to learn that Glen lesson, too. May God bless the Bolger family, his founding partners @KCkid & @pollsterguy, and everyone else at Public Opinion Strategies, the juggernaut they built. Welcome home, Glen.

Brand new Michigan primary numbers James 41 /Johnson 18 /Cox 7 /Nesbit 5
400 sample, April 15-18.
A month ago James was ahead by 18, now he’s up by 23.Â
That shows some movement just beyond the margin of error.
OMI is the top-rated Republican polling firm in the country for one simple reason – our numbers are accurate.

Some campaigns are about winning. Others are about what matters most.
It was an honor to work alongside the families of hostages taken by Hamas - learning from their strength, supporting their fight, and helping tell their stories.
Founding partner @BradOnMessage, alongside Tommy Binion and Abbey Roswell, is deeply honored to accept Public Affairs Campaign of the Year on behalf of @OnMessagePS - recognizing an effort rooted in purpose and partnership. #POLLIES26

The @theaapc Public Affairs Campaign of the Year is a trophy we are proud to earn, and we dedicate it to the grit & indefatigable optimism of the families of the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza for far too long. The real victory is their families did #BringThemHome.

It’s time for America to choose: will the most powerful technology in history be used to harm children, enrich the powerful, and risk American lives? Or will we build it with the values that make America great?
We can build AI the American way. We must choose a Better Future.
