When did most of the world stop building quickly and on budget? Roughly after the 1970s and 1980s! China still does it fast: 1,500 workers finished a major railway track upgrade at Longyan station in 9 hours in 2018, and the country has built more than 45,000 km of high-speed rail. India builds about 31 km of national highways every day and has set single-day records of over 34 lane-km. Singapore and UAE are known for efficient, modular delivery of complex urban projects that usually stay closer to plan. Data shows Ireland finishes megaprojects in about 5.8 years on average, while the UK takes nearly 12.5 years (infrastructure often closer to 19 years). About 90% of large projects worldwide run over budget or late. In Africa, studies show more than 70% of projects face big delays, often taking 20–70% longer than planned, with many never getting past the planning stage. Is it extra rules, longer approval times, court cases, endless negotiations, poor preparation, funding gaps and other peculiar circumstances that face nation states?

UPDATE: Parliament Commissioner and Human Resource Committee Chairperson Susan Jolly Abeja says the ongoing human resource audit and staff verification exercise will help identify staffing gaps, guide recruitment and ensure the proper deployment of personnel. Abeja acknowledged concerns surrounding accelerated promotions, emphasising that all promotions must follow established procedures and be based on the required qualifications and relevant experience. She urged parliamentary staff to uphold discipline, professionalism and commitment to duty, noting that effective service delivery should take precedence over job titles. #MonitorUpdates 📹: Ibrahim Kavuma

Corruption Most Stinking!😷😷 Government buys its own land at UGX17Bn! 1- Magic Parking, opposite La.Bonita and above Christ The King Church, is a space in the city centre everyone needs no introduction to✍🏾 2- Government of China GRANTED to the GOU, construction of a fully funded Foreign Affairs College facility✍🏾 3- All China wanted was land onto which to erect the magnificent facility✍🏾 4- Foreign Affairs Ministry didn’t look beyond their backyard for the land✍🏾 5- This land belongs, or is supposed to belong to the Government of Uganda. But, alas! 6- Some two foreigners, with a local CONTENT had long obtained a leasehold on the same land, of course with the current plans✍🏾 7- Along the way, the leasehold in the names a Resident Plaza was converted to a Freehold✍🏾 8- Now, the taxpayer is already scooping UGX17Bn from the struggling public coffers to pay the three individuals who NOW, supposedly own this public land✍🏾 9- The space has hitherto been `owned` by a one Mzee Mbaaba✍🏾 So, What🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️ Well, on top of the fake `Digital Plates` Case, our lawyers of Muwema & Co. Advocates are also turning these Magic Parking pages. Not because we expect to receive justice from courts of law, for the taxpayer, but to have these ugly things go down on record. The above stance, for our young generation to learn never to give up on their country, even when the corrupt monsters are at their best strength. The fact that turbulence is prevailing now doesn’t mean it is eternity. Generations come and generations go. But the People of the land remain all the time✍🏾 Nobugambo Obwo, Muraaregye ✋🏾

🇺🇬 NAMBESHE DOUBTS JOB LOSSES AS PARLIAMENT VETS STAFF Parliamentary Commissioner John Baptist Nambeshe (NUP, Manjiya County) doubts that Parliament’s staff verification will cost anyone a job, citing Speaker Jacob Marksons Oboth’s stated wish that staff retain their jobs. The exercise starts on 19 October 2026 amid allegations that more than 300 employees were irregularly recruited during the 11th Parliament. Nambeshe says the purpose is to restructure staff and restore Parliament’s image following claims that it employs more people than it needs. He also says he does not have the staffing figures and refers questions about the numbers to the Commission’s Human Resource chairperson. Watch here:

The timing is not an accident! Just few days after Joseph Kabila announces the FRN, Kinshasa starts collapsing internationally. 1. Belgium opens investigation into Tshisekedi. 2. White House exposes $17M DRC government transfer to Trump allies. This money moved in 2025. It was hidden for a year. Why does it leak now? Because the game changed. For years, the West protected Tshisekedi because there was no alternative. Now with FRN, and President Kabila who still has diplomatic ties with many countries, there is a new horse to bet on. So they no longer need to hide Tshisekedi's scandals. This is how it works: When your Western backers find a new partner, they start leaking your dirty files. Tshisekedi thought he could buy Washington with $17M of Congolese taxpayers' money. Now that same money is burning him. The shield is gone. Kinshasa is exposed because Kinshasa is no longer useful. We are watching the beginning of the end.
