What’s sad is that I see a bunch of people piling on him or saying this why people shouldn’t have kids. Unfortunately it may take you having kids to see what was normal in your childhood isn’t normal. You can’t heal what you don’t know has affected you. Healing is a life long thing. I hate when people act like they’re better than the next person
I think judging defensive players by blocks and steals is archaic in general but I think on average it’s a lot easier to “fake” good defense with steals. Like A.I. led the league in steals around 4 times and was never even a top 5 defender on his own team.
“moving forward”
Shannon Sharpe says that Deion Sanders may need to change the way he recruits players moving forward 👀
“It ain't about you, it's about these kids.”
Unc states that today's top recruits expect coaches to personally visit their homes and meet their families.
"Guys ain't coming. If you can't go to their house, their grandma's house, their mom's house, their granddad's house, they're not coming. It's just not enough for you to be Deion Sanders, Coach Prime."
"You have to take yourself out of the equation. It ain't about you, it's about these kids. And you got to show them that it's about them."

Stings first match when he actually did sign was losing to Triple H, so that about sums up what would have happened if he came over 2001-2003

Tbh I think giving Ayton that contract and trading for Beal set them back more than anything but I guess
Matt Ishbia admits trading for Kevin Durant was a mistake:
"I kind of just threw money at the problem... Bringing in super talented players like Kevin Durant doesn't necessarily lead to championships."

In a perfect world I would have liked to have seen Carter get a standard deal and Uzan get the two way but I get it
The Boston Celtics are converting Devin Carter to a two-way deal, league sources told @hoopshype. Carter averaged 8.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 18.4 minutes during 38 games for the Sacramento Kings last season.

I’m sorry but it’s just not a coincidence to me which players are so adamantly pushing individual achievements > championships.
Gilbert Arenas on Allen Iverson saying he would give up his accolades for a championship:
“That’s why I’m not paying attention to him and it has nothing to do with Allen Iverson himself. Reality is I would give up everything for a ring? Okay so, you’re going to give up a Hall of Fame, 11 time All-Star, 4 time scoring title, 7 time All-NBA, all rookie team, rookie of the year, 2 time MVP, 75 anniversary to be Adam Morrison then we don’t even know who you are we’re not even interviewing you, Adam Morrison he has two rings with the Lakers we didn’t even know he was on the team if that’s the guy you want to be we don’t know you.”
I see what Gil is saying but it’s two different conversations I think Allen Iverson is saying still be as good as he was and win a championship but with none of those accomplishments because you play basketball to win championships.

The way Melo sees basketball explains why he never won anything
“Jaylen Brown is the best two-way player in the NBA… I think if Wemby wasn't in the league, [JB] could win defensive player of the year.”👀

Also mildly unpopular opinion - I think the list of players who truly had an elite impact on both ends at the same time is significantly smaller than NBA fans & media think. I don’t think ppl realize how insanely hard it is to be the anchor on both ends every single night.
