What do y'all do for building out pages and testing new CRO stuff? Cuz honestly I hate being in gempages tweaking font sizes. I guess I can also use Claude to build them out but was never so satisfied by the results.. probably need to learn how to use it better. Let me know

But I have to come clean 🙏 The main demographic I've been selling to has been African Americans...
...and I heard the rebill success rates are usually super bad.
Has anyone come across this before and have any insights they could share?
Also wondering if I change my demo will it improve my success rates or are they somehow permanently affected by months of declines with this audience?

For the past couple of years, I worked as a Creative Strategist for 8- and 9-figure brands...
A few months ago, I decided I should take a bigger risk and start running my own brand.
Launched the first ads in December 2025. They all flopped. Thought, “This is not going to work.”
A few months later, decided to try again...
Same store. Same product. New testing strategy...
One angle started ripping.
Fast-forward 6 months: we just hit $500k MRR.
Goal is to hit $3M MRR by EOY.
I think this will be the first and last time I'll post my numbers on social media, because I genuinely hate doing this shit
I only did it because that’s what people like seeing in this space...
(even though, in 99% of cases, even the flashiest numbers are hiding a lot of mess behind them)...

August 23: Hit 400k MRR.
Been learning so much recently, trying to understand how to run subscriptions. I learned how to construct the offer and since changing it, it has a 94% sub take rate, the cash conversion cycle is way better. I want to still run some tests and see how I can improve it further (free gifts).
Also I've been in excel understanding our numbers and trying to forecast the coming months. We have been spending at a loss on the front-end but we have subscription revenue that helps cover us and especially as September comes aruond I expect a lot of subscriptions to start hitting and that will help us scale even more.
Also Amazon is being setup and we'll soon be live there. We'll start advertising on different platforms as well like Taboola and Applovin.
Issues I'm running across now are still:
- cashflow. It's really bad but I already secured some credit, even though it's got a low limit, but hoping to get multiple now and grow the limits with time. And also keeping track of our numbers better (finally hired an accountant recently).
- performance. Need to increase volume a lot and find new winners and new angles. All this help from subscriptions is great to scale but if our ads can't sustain a certain CPA then it won't matter. I think soon this will improve though.
- kinda wanna change the avatar I'm targeting, it seems to be a low quality customer and the chargebacks and payment success rate are taking a hit because of it. Need to test new angles.
- hiring. Need to stay searching for more good editors that are fast. Also down the line maybe a smart creative strategist that can help with volume.
That's where I'm at right now, time to keep pushing!

August 5: These past few days I kept myself busy writing VSLs for the editors, and spent time doing some more administrative work...
We finally hired an accountant cuz we were doing 0 of that. Also got an Amazon agency because we want to kick the copycats off and setup a presence there, hired more customer support, scheduled calls with platforms that can help us with cashflow.
Also will test out Phoenix soon. Right now I am using Aftersell and have multiple upsells, but it's limiting and I am sure if I can do upsell VSLs and do them right we can increase our AOV by a looot.

1. Constantly search for the best swipes, especially recently scaling winners.
2. Make sure I can see the structure working for my product and it isn't a "stretch."
3. Plug in my winning messaging or come up with new angles/messaging to test (taken from market research or swiping).
4. Draft with claude in a standard claude project with detailed instructions on the flow of the script and how I want it to execute.
5. Spend 1-3 hours going line by line and making sure it reads well and flows and actually resonates (taste developed after analyzing a lot of copy so you know what "good" sounds like).

August 3: Some of the natives I launched a few days ago are starting to do well. I think I know why, and I have 10 more ready to be written with my new learnings, plus a few videos.
Yesterday spent the day writing video scripts so the editors have what to do. Hopefully Wednesday I can get to work on the new Natives and also testing 3-4 different angles I think can be big for my product (I'll start with some basic statics to see what people click on most and then build out the funnel + native ads).

July 31: Been busy the past week. Writing constantly to start putting out more creatives again. Email agency finished setting things up so that's great. Also I have multiple new angles I can't wait to test that I think will be super good.
The biggest unlock for me was understanding how the subscription game really works, we received some amazing consulting and realized our offer was completely shooting ourselves in the foot in regards to our cash conversion cycle and how fast we were making our money back. So we set it up yesterday in the correct way.
For now, my focus is pumping out way more creatives and testing all those new angles. And keeping an eye on chargebacks and making sure this doesn't get out of hand (literally got warning 1 out of 3 as I was writing this).
