It’s so cool to see a legitimate team succeeding
I spoke to @nftboi_ over a month ago, way before all the recent interest to @umia_finance
He explained the vision and told me something that most people already agree on:
Token launches are flawed
But it also means there's an opportunity for a new solution
I think the fact that Umia launches its own token on its own platform (as proof of concept) is the best case study there could be
$3.5M raised in <24h. Group chats hyped about it. Also apparently it's second most discussed token in South Korea right now (gud marketing). Public round opens on August 29th
Props to the team. Nailed the timing, while going the opposite direction of what’s trendy in the space right now

Blur in its prime days was definitely one of my favorite crypto apps
- clean, responsive UI
- not bloated like OpenSea
- never lagged like MagicEden
- no major outages
And they understood the incentives perfectly
I know people who farmed Blur exclusively, got 2 airdrops and left the space for good
Some of the choices made by the team were controversial, but they had motion and were trend setters for a while
It's a shame what happened afterwards though. Colossal fumble

Inside you there are 2 wolves
One who bought a token and one who didn’t
Proof of Play will be ceasing operations.
When we started out, we believed games using blockchain tech had the potential to usher in a new, decentralized internet. Ultimately, we couldn't build a product and sustainable business that proved out this thesis at scale.
We are open-sourcing as much of our code and art as possible so it can be helpful to future builders & agents.
Pirate Nation Unity app: github.com/proofofplay/pirat…
Pirate Nation Smart Contracts: github.com/proofofplay/pirat…
The Founder Pirates NFTs and the Pirate Nation artwork/IP/logos have been made available under a CC0 license. Available here: github.com/proofofplay/pirat…
Our internal agent workflow tool for rapidly building software products with small teams: github.com/proofofplay/popbo…
The Pirate Nation Foundation is independent from Proof of Play and will continue supporting the $PIRATE token. The Foundation website will remain operational. Proof of Play points will not be redeemable for anything.
Shiba Story Go! has been acquired by a 3rd party and will continue to operate independently.
Thanks for playing and building with us all of these years. We truly gave it our best effort and are grateful for everyone who passed through and spent time in our community.
CT: know your worth king! Never accept $25 paid promo deals 🤮🤮
Also CT: just got $1 from Moonpay. WAGMI 🤑🤑
Alright man
They’re still talking about Ben Pasternak on YouTube and pulling numbers
Haven’t heard about the guy in a while on CT
RIP everyone who invested in @believeapp
People still arguing if MoonPay/PayBox is harvesting your data or not
Which is funny because you can just go ahead and ask AI to spill it out for you
Your chat logs are safe but you expose other significant data:
- KYC gets linked to non-custodial wallet
- certain credentials can be stored as raw data that ends up on Claude/ChatGPT servers
- reasoning / thought process about the purchases is captured (super valuable for advertisers)
- potentially: your whole transaction history (connected to your identity) is one data breach away (if you reuse the same wallet for every purchase)
and more…
PayBox on it’s own is legitimately nice tech and huge accomplishment for MoonPay but you have to understand tradeoffs
Convenience is the enemy of basic privacy

CT says NFTs are kinda back
But many people are heavily underexposed rn
If that sounds like you - I gotchu
Here's an official tier list for those who's not tapped in
You're welcome

If you're in crypto, pivot to teleprompting for political figures
Prediction markets have created so many opportunities for unrelated industries it's wild
Someone also cross-checked how many NEW users traded on Robinhood chain
*NEW - never used DeFi on associated wallet
7-day sample of 11,272 active addresses showed:
- median balance sub $10
- less than 20% touched memecoin launchpad
- 112 addresses produced ~50% of all transactions
Risk appetite is genuinely weak on RH chain for retail. Though they did bring some new people in
I like the distribution thesis some people mentioned, but the team has to get it together
Maybe competition from Base will help RH with that
How are things looking for Robinhood Chain outside of our bubble?
I went on Reddit and YouTube to find out
There’s like 12 legitimate discussions on Reddit, largest one has 80 comments. Majority have <30.
Most popular video on YouTube on this topic is from our CT fellow CryptoGorilla (7.7k views)
In total there’s around 20-30 videos of various quality, avg. view count is below 1000 views
Verdict - not exactly a hot topic for the outside world. Same old PVP for now

Drift is now Velocity
(down 99% from ATH, hacked)
Story Protocol is now Data Foundation
(down 98% from ATH, pivoted to AI infra)
Sophon is now SophOFF
(down 94% from ATH, pivoted to building apps on Base)
All 3 rebrands announced over the past 2 weeks
I don’t need to tell you how it ends
Isn’t it funny how the main use case of crypto has become a disposal of it (spending via neobanks)
And with that, you get more risks and often times predatory service
The whole ethos was to rebuild an outdated financial system (or so the old tales say)
Not a good look

Some think they're absolute chads
Others that they're CHUDS and must fulfill a promise
what's your take?

If you ever feel bad about yourself, just remember there's a guy who has been maxing out short term loans with high interest rate TO TRADE MEMECOINS,
hoping that Ansem pays off his debt and he can continue trading without "the weight of money he owes"
This dude is beyond fried
Why it's good:
- no reliance on token ponzinomics
- more likely to attract long-term-minded community members
- REAL success of a company is tied to your payday as a holder, you champion the brand more
Sounds net positive to me
Potential new meta forming?
Claynosaurz will allocate 15% of company's equity to holders
KAST notified long term users that their points will be converted to equity
This is nothing like standard airdrops or other common incentives we've seen
Not to jinx it, but I'll take a guess - more companies will follow this path over the next months
