🎒💔 Today was officially our first day of school. But please don’t imagine a school like the one we had before the war. There are no proper teachers, no desks or chairs, and we sit on the floor, bending over our books until our backs hurt. My little sister Layan refused to go today. She only wanted a girly schoolbag like her friends. Instead, she has to use an old boys’ backpack our neighbor gave us. 💔 I convinced her to go and promised we would take beautiful pictures together. She smiled, but I know her heart was hurting. 🥺 I previously asked for just $100 for her backpack and school supplies. No one helped. And I’m struggling too. I’m in my final year before university, a hardworking student who dreams of becoming a doctor, but I still haven’t been able to register with the teachers I need because we cannot afford the fees.
