Fairy tales have long been my framework for making sense of the world and uncovering its magic. So, so (sososososo) excited to be bringing fairy tales filled with strong, gutsy heroines to life with @Triciaelin and @randomhousekids ✨
I have so many thoughts about this, one of the biggest being that creativity is not supposed to be efficient. It's not supposed to be automated. Writing should be hard, and gloriously messy, and challenging. And that's also the joy of it.

writing should be hard lmao. you’re supposed to be stuck. life is painful and then gives way to beauty you losers. we are going to create a bunch of people who feel miserable bc they don’t have the satisfaction of the labor of making something. efficiency is boring.
Enormous congratulations to one of the best poets and humans I’ve ever met. So excited to have your book in the world, @gabbydozal!
How did I get so lucky to MFA alongside these fantastic people?
Gathering under the mesquite tree tonight with these impressive writers, thinkers, poets, dreamers from this year's @ArizonaMFA grad class. Joy.
Happy (belated) book birthday to the incredible @IAmSuyiDavies! So excited for you, friend, and can’t wait to dive into SON OF THE STORM!

And of course, endless thanks to @katebernheimer, Manuel, and the entire @ArizonaMFA faculty for helping me become a better writer and human

She's cheer captain, and

So so so excited to announce that I've signed with the amazing @HilaryHarwell and joined the @ktliterary family! (Couldn't have done this without books on obscure mushrooms, the Wicked soundtrack, and my emotional-support cat, who doesn't care)

Today we took the cat to the vet because she wouldn't stop howling at night, and we were worried something was wrong. Turns out she has anxiety and freaks out when we turn off the lights because she hates change. Same, Rosie. Same.
Meant to share this ages ago but I have no sense of time — such a great experience talking to @frichettewinery for @SeattleRefined about wine and empowering women
Shae Frichette entered wine on a whim. Now, Washington's only Black female winery owner is using her success and insight to empower and encourage more female and Black winemakers @frichettewinery

Easily one of my most magical nights: having dinner with @AimeeBender, Joy Williams, and @katebernheimer talking about typewriters, dogs, and Broadway
