Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom💜 Matic Network was founded in 2017—back then, many of you either didn’t know about crypto or were only following BTC, ETH, and LTC. Three years later, in May 2020, they launched Matic Network (now Polygon PoS), and it wasn’t until 2021 that the MATIC token (now POL) reached its ATH. Polygon PoS has been stable and widely used for five years now, and this chain is closely associated with Polygon Labs. Currently, it has been a year since Polygon Labs announced the development of AggLayer (early 2024), though I believe the actual work started much earlier. The idea and execution of AggLayer are ahead of their time. Version 0.3 (enabling all EVM chains to connect) is about to launch soon. But there’s still version 0.4 ahead (bringing super-fast finality), along with many more innovations and upgrades. Next, this product will begin its decentralization journey, gaining adoption and attracting users (chains, dapps, bridges, etc). That’s when the real value accrual for the POL token will start. This process isn’t instant—it takes time, especially since the market doesn’t yet know how to price this impact. There are no comparable products, and the scale of its success remains uncertain.
