NEW: Louisville autistic teen 15-fires rifle at mother and police during domestic call On October 5, an LMPD officer responded to a domestic call after a stepfather reported his 15-year-old stepson assaulting his mother. While the officer spoke with the mother, the teen appeared on the porch with a rifle and fired toward them, striking a nearby car. Thompson moved the mother to cover and ordered the teen to drop the weapon. The teen fired again; the officer returned fire, striking him multiple times, then rendered aid. The 15-year-old, who has autism, was taken to the hospital for surgery and is expected to survive. Thompson is on administrative leave pending investigation.
