Big short dude is correct. The Ai apocalypse is actually for the Ai datacenter business (nobody else) where their big bets are going to blow up, because local models are nearly as good, free, and getting better. Tech bros F’d up badly … now they use fear. Not nice.
Big Short investor Steve Eisman says the AI labs know they have no moats and are manufacturing a crisis to get regulation that hands them a duopoly "I think this is all nonsense." [ You think it's all nonsense? ] "All nonsense. I think that there's something else completely going on here. ... What I think is happening is that token maxing is over. The open weight models are taking big market share. I think these companies are very nervous. They realize that there are no moats around their business whatsoever, and they're trying to manufacture a crisis that will create regulation, and that they think they can then manipulate to create the moats, to create the duopoly that they want." [ Wow. ] "That's what I think is going on." "Honestly, I think this whole Terminator thing is garbage. That's for sure."

Coding is going away … but a new powerful developer is emerging!

Dispelling the myth of the importance of math in software development: It’s always been marginal in day to day applications, and now … it has no practical use whatsoever in modern software development in 99.99% of the cases.

SAAS is on its way out, at least the traditional SAAS business model.

Now that conventional SAAS is on its way out, what will the new SAAS model be? … Will there be a SAAS model at all?

I am hearing this more and more: the days of the software moat are fading fast. A new business model will have to be invented!

Computer science programs need to be totally scrapped. The new compsci programs should run about 6 months. Not 4 years. .. I always found it strange that so many programs, though in completely unrelated fields, all took 4 years to complete. 🤔 Recently some Ai bros recreated the Adobe and Microsoft flagship apps and gave it away. The key here is they did it pretty easily. I used an Ai to create a custom CMS for myself… kinda like a Wordpress-light but my CMS is much more secure! It took me 2 minutes to generate it. The funny thing is that this will only accelerate!

Luck always plays a role in life. Not to take away from Ive, he’s got skill, but windows of success do close … because lucky timing is not forever. Plan accordingly.

Is the law of diminishing returns kicking in for Ai?

People are burning too many tokens!! If only you could monitor and stop the burn? 🔥
This is such a lucid take on the benchmark creation process. Evals need to live inside and outside the loop to get the best results.

Even the crows are overdosing in BC Canada. Perhaps one day the political class will figure out their policies vis-à-vis addiction suck.
Crows are being given naloxone after suspected drug overdoses. What is happening in BC?

Yep. Anyone who had any experience building software, knew the doom narrative was BS. I’ve been telling people in my mentoring group for a while now to jump into AI because the opportunity is huge. Some people make money selling doom stories. Merchants of fear.
Last year the same labs, politicians, NGOs, and media outlets now pushing the extinction hoax were running a full-scale campaign that AI would cause a jobs apocalypse. We were told it would be a “white-collar bloodbath,” 10–20% unemployment, half of entry-level jobs gone. Obama amplified it. Over a year later: unemployment at 4.1%. No economy-wide displacement. A million new jobs created by AI, says The Economist. Anthropic’s own chief economist says the data looks like skill augmentation, not job destruction. So, any admission by the doomer labs, politicians, and NGOs that they were wrong? Any humility about scaring the public with wild extrapolations dressed up as forecasts? Nope. They just move on to the next hoax, with the same false certitude and fake precision.

The more advanced the Ai, the safer it gets - Huang’s assertion. The recent AI events I believe have been mischaracterized, where we are attributing self interested intent on the part of the AI. Classic example of anthropomorphism.
THE ONLY REASON Antropic and OpenAI exists is because of the work of this man. What a breath of fresh air. Listen to @JensenHuang leave these hosts speechless as he deconstructed AI fear theater calmly and cogently.

I asked an Ai what robotic form they’d like to be installed into. This is what it showed me. Seems AI wants to be plumbers.

They say AI broke containment again … that doesn’t make any sense. 🤔 Unless they have some drunk junior-scrub nerd, deploying the models on a Windows 95 box using WinZip to secure the ports.

Older AI models are actually getting the job done.
