(sensitive subject warning)
today is world suicide prevention day.
i recorded a song i never planned to release, “by the time you notice”
it’s a very raw b-side i wrote on the spot as i recorded it. while the album was wrapping up, i felt it was important to include in the release.
this year, the world lost two amazing people that i had the honor of knowing during their time on this earth, due to suicide.
a lot of people didn’t know they were fighting with their mental health. those struggling typically hesitate to reach out for help because they are afraid of being perceived as weak or a failure if they admit they are not okay.
i’m not great with my words, but i wrote this song in the perspective of struggling with continuing to exist.
please regularly check up on those you love, provide a safe space, and encourage open communication. if you are quietly struggling i want you to know that you are not weak, you are a fighter, you are brave. it is not a taboo topic to discuss, there is someone who will listen.
