A 27-year-old Technion graduate is close to selling the startup he founded 2 years and 10 months ago to Elon Musk for $6 billion. At 23, Dean received his PhD from the Technion… More precisely: at 23, Dean earned his doctoral degree from the Technion after completing the excellence program for gifted students (תוכנית המצטיינים). His studies took only 11 semesters, and his average grade of 98.2 ranked among the top 5 in the university’s entire history. For his dissertation, the young genius received a national award and completed a postdoctoral fellowship (his fourth degree) at the National University of Singapore. Incidentally, he combined his studies at the Haifa university with service in the elite Unit 8200, where he received a grant from the Ministry of Defense (on a classified topic). Yes, Dean is an IDF officer. But that is, of course, not the story I intended to distract you with. His company Decart is generating enormous interest in the world of artificial intelligence. The platform created by Dr. Leitersdorf’s team was the target of a $4 billion acquisition attempt by NVIDIA a year ago, but Musk is not merely paying $6 billion. If the deal goes through, SpaceX will build its AI center in Israel based on Decart AI, and the mega-project will be led by the 27-year-old Technion graduate from Haifa. Israel is joining a very small club of countries that define the meaning of the future—creating next-generation AI technologies (deep-contact AI). And this Israel has a face: a very young man named Dean Leitersdorf.❤️🙏
