I’ll rather be a bone-afide surgeon 😉
If I ever specialise in Urology it will be solely so I can write “Elite Ball knowledge” in my bio and CV.

She studied medicine and surgery and was the best graduating student in her school. Today, she's entering okada to work as a doctor. I'm sure the dullards in her class from secondary school will be laughing at her. When I was advising donye to turn his prowess to a paid system she called me an idiot. This will be him in a few years. The economic reality of practicing as a doctor will sabotage everyone, both the doctor with ten distinctions and the one with ten resits. If you refuse to learn how to monetize your advantage, you will suffer miserably. Being smart is only but a potential, turning it to cash is when it becomes a value. Money is the strongest measure of value in the real world. If people won't pay you for something, then you haven't made them think it is valuable. A doctor who hasn't understood the value of his knowledge and skills, how to communicate them and how to convert them to money will die poor. Trust me, japa will not save you.

“Basic stabilisation must include oxygen therapy, intravenous fluids, pain relief and preliminary diagnostic procedures” who will provide the funds??
Senate Proposes Six-Month Jail Term, ₦300 Thousand Fine for Hospitals That Reject Emergency Patients The Senate is considering a bill seeking to punish hospitals and healthcare providers who fail to comply with proposed emergency treatment standards with up to six months’ imprisonment, a ₦300,000 fine, or both. Sponsored by Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, the proposed amendment to the National Health Act, 2014, seeks to ensure timely emergency care, proper training of healthcare workers and improved patient referral procedures. Under the bill, public and private hospitals would be required to assess emergency patients within 15 minutes of arrival, begin initial stabilisation within 30 minutes and complete referrals within three hours where necessary. The legislation also mandates immediate life-saving interventions, including CPR, airway management and bleeding control, once a life-threatening condition is identified. Basic stabilisation must include oxygen therapy, intravenous fluids, pain relief and preliminary diagnostic procedures. Hospitals would also be required to provide admission beds within two hours, subject to availability. Where beds are unavailable, facilities must stabilise patients and begin referral arrangements within two hours or once they are considered fit for transfer. Ambulance dispatch or alternative transportation must commence within 30 minutes of a referral decision. The bill further directs the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria to establish a national emergency care curriculum, with relevant healthcare workers undergoing training and certification at least once every 18 months.

medical school should be a recognised traumatic experience, cos why do I always go into defence mode and start thinking of the catch whenever I’m asked a question

chai, one day me sef fit enter one of these stories
Talking about male doctors… they do the most! Before I had my baby, I told a male doctor I wanted a CS. He looked at me crazy and asked why, and I said because that’s what I wanted. He tried to convince me, but I insisted. What pissed me off was when he asked if my husband approved. I asked if it was my husband who was pregnant. His countenance changed; he became meaner, but I didn’t care. Out of frustration, he said I had to see their chief. I said cool and asked where. Later, I saw the chief, luckily the man was from my hometown. We spent time catching up..later I told him why I came to see him.. we spoke at length and he told me everything I needed to know after He asked if I was sure, and I said 100%. He said okay and gave me a date. On that date, I packed my bags, strolled to the hospital, and they delivered my baby. I understand when a woman doesn’t want a male doctor….they can be so rude.
