There’s nothing quite like #Canada during the fall. Fiery maples, golden forests, mirrored lakes and crisp autumn air make fall a spectacular time to explore Canada’s natural beauty. In your opinion, where is the best Canadian place to travel to in the fall? 🍁🍂

“Liberals take positions that make them look good and feel good — and show very little interest in the actual consequences for others, even when liberal policies are leaving havoc in their wake.”
— Thomas Sowell
Yes! 👍
Thomas Sowell is another national treasure and deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom!
Few have defended freedom as tirelessly and eloquently as Sowell. His decades of rigorous scholarship have shaped policy debates and inspired generations of readers.
At 96, Sowell deserves to see his extraordinary contributions recognized at the highest level.

“It is bad enough that so many people believe things without any evidence. What is worse is that some people have no conception of evidence and regard facts as just someone else’s opinion.”

Schools should be teaching students how to think, not what to think.
The goal of education is to give students the tools to question assumptions, weigh evidence, and reach conclusions for themselves.
This has long been replaced by telling students what they should be thinking. And now even the “what” is becoming increasingly radical.

Sowell calls this kind of mindset “the vision of the anointed.”
It is the belief among intellectual and political elites—the “anointed”—that “problems exist because others are not as wise or as virtuous” as they are.
The “anointed” tend to see themselves as wiser and more virtuous, and therefore qualified to make decisions for everyone else.
Milton Friedman rebukes a school board member:
“Why should you be able to tell John and Jane that they have to be proficient in a foreign language? Maybe they’d rather be proficient in music, mathematics, or something else.”
“It’s just a demonstration of your willingness to replace their judgement by yours.”

People learn MORE about how to DO a job by DOING it, than by having a college degree.

The politician who could solve many of your problems probably won’t be elected anytime soon, because his campaign pitch would be political suicide: “You’re more capable of solving your own problems than I am. My job is to protect your freedom, get government out of your way, and stop pretending I’m your savior.”
There’s far more political currency in convincing people they’re helpless, identifying someone else to blame, and promising that one more politician with a little more money and power will finally fix everything.
Dependency sells. Self-reliance doesn’t need a campaign manager.

Socialists don’t understand that under capitalism, one becomes wealthy not by exploiting others, but by producing goods or services others willingly choose to pay for.
One reason they don’t understand this may be that most of them don’t create much value themselves and are used to taking from others. They project this onto everyone else and assume that those who are well off must have “exploited” other people.

I get thousands of texts and emails from people all over the globe. Most of them are astute. But a lot of folks are not living in reality. They are good people; they’re just ill-informed.
I’m trying to pull as many people in as I can, because if you live in a false world, you are going to harm yourself and your family. An example: China. billoreilly.com/b/Living-in-…

Donald Trump did not attack Canada.
He's the guy who bough a new house on the street. We were the bad neighbour using his WiFi for free, parking on his driveway and never mowing our side of the fence.
He's the new owner of the house next door that didn't put up with our shit, so he changed the password, had us park our car elsewhere and made us paint the fence.
Our free ride came to an end, but rather that man-up, we acted like babies.
Donald Trump is a wake up call for the world.
