Time to head off to Temple Newsam for the first @PecoXC race of the season. A nice course apart from the little water jump.

On the @LNER train from King's Cross to Leeds in 1st Class. A complimentary meal option is Buttery Toasted Crumpets with jam. That's just wrong. Crumpets are always with marmite. Luckily I had some with me.

Wow. Just had the new Signature complimentary 1st Class meal on the 17:39 @LNER train back to Leeds from King's Cross. Chicken Milanese with cavatelli pasta, shaved parmesan and fresh rocket. Followed by Raspberry and frangipane tart with crème fraiche.

New menu for the complimentary meal in 1st Class on my @LNER trip down to King's Cross from Leeds. The Spanish-style frittata and smoky beans was tasty and the lemon choux bun dessert was a welcome addition.

Anyone else remember the funny excuses for late trains in "The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin", e.g. "22 minutes late, escaped puma, Chessington North". Had a new one on the 17:39 @LNER train back to Leeds from London yesterday.

Two wheelchair users were on Platform 4 at Grantham and needed to get to the accessible loos on Platform 1, but the lifts were out of order. Our train was due, so they could board it and use the accessible toilet on the train then return to their platform. A really nice solution.

A new complimentary 1st Class Signature Menu on this evening 's @LNER train home to Leeds from King's Cross. Tried the Chicken supreme, scalloped potatoes, Tender stem broccoli and a white wine sauce. It was superb.

and the Passion fruit and lemon tart for dessert finished it off nicely. Train only a few mins late as well after big problems with damage to overhead cables. The LNER staff deserve a bonus for getting it all sorted.

Excellent service as always in 1st Class on the @LNER train back to Leeds this week. A great menu and lovely staff. I see that the 1st Class Lounge at King's Cross is due to reopen next week. I'm certainly very glad my weekly trip down to London is with LNER.

My 17:08 train back to Leeds from London was packed this evening as the previous train had been cancelled. But it arrived on time and still got the complimentary food in 1st Class. The Chicken Tagine on the new Winter Dish Menu is rather good. Well done @LNER .

As it's Burns Night this weekend, @LNER have replaced the Woodland Mushroom & Ale Pie offering on the 1st Class Winter Menu with Haggis Pie. It was braw.

Nooooo! The @LNER 1st Class Lounge at King's Cross is shutting for a few weeks for refurbishment. I'll miss the pre-trip muffins and Penn State Baked Pretzels. Hope there are no delays.
