Feeling this mix hard, as @reporteremma puts it: “1) Overwhelming joy at the endless summer we’re having and 2) A growing sense of anxiety about how nearly three months with no rain in much of B.C. is impacting, well, all other living things.” thenarwhal.ca/bc-fall-drough…

The Pope is traveling to Canada next week. He’s coming to apologize for the Catholic Church’s role in Indian Residential Schools.
But the church didn’t abuse children. People did.
How can the Pope apologize for a crime without acknowledging the criminals?

A little update from me: I’ve moved to Victoria! I very much enjoyed my eight years in Hamilton. Thanks to all of you who shared ideas, questions and your stories with me. For now, I’ll mostly be taking care of a new baby and gazing at the ocean and amazing blooms in my hometown.
Beautiful, surprising story.
