Could hardly believe our ears this morning, hearing a Great Spotted Woodpecker hiding somewhere at Kinramer - only the 3rd ever record on Rathlin! Eventually got a very unsatisfying glimpse of it flying off towards another patch of trees... hoping to catch up with it tomorrow 馃

It's already been an unusually good autumn for Lapland Buntings, but today was exceptional! A flock of 16 this morning, followed by a separate 3, then a final lone bird making easily our highest ever count here. Also a few late Wheatears and our first Hen Harrier of the autumn
