Und wir finden das richtig gut.
Der ursprüngliche Plan:
Wenn überschüssiger PV-Strom am Markt weniger als 5 Cent/kWh wert ist, wird daraus mittels Bitcoin-Mining ein zusätzlicher Ertrag erzeugt.
Jetzt gibt es aber eine Alternative.
🇦🇹 Seit 1. Oktober wurden in Österreich neue Möglichkeiten für den direkten Stromhandel zwischen Erzeugern und Verbrauchern geschaffen.
Unser Kunde möchte deshalb versuchen, seinen überschüssigen Strom lokal für rund 11 Cent/kWh zu verkaufen.
Wenn das funktioniert, lautet unsere Antwort: 👉 Verkaufen statt minen.
Denn Bitcoin-Mining ist besonders dort spannend, wo Strom sehr günstig oder überschüssig ist und keine bessere wirtschaftliche Verwendung findet.
Künftig könnten um dieselbe überschüssige Kilowattstunde konkurrieren:
Eigenverbrauch. Speicher. Lokaler Stromverkauf. Bitcoin-Mining.
Wer den höchsten wirtschaftlichen Nutzen bringt, bekommt den Strom.
Das könnte gerade auf der untersten Netzebene völlig neue Geschäftsmodelle schaffen und die dezentrale Energieversorgung in Österreich verändern.
Vielleicht kauft ihr euren Strom künftig teilweise nicht mehr von einem großen Energieunternehmen.
Sondern vom Landwirt, Unternehmen oder PV-Besitzer ein paar Straßen weiter. ⚡

Update for OCEAN miners:
Effective 9:00 AM EDT, the default OCEAN stratum endpoint will return to the non-BIP110 chain. Miners on the default endpoint need no action.
Both websites remain live:
Non-BIP110: ocean.xyz
BIP110: bip110.ocean.xyz
OCEAN miners have found blocks on both chains since the fork. Every client chooses where their hashrate goes, and that freedom is the bedrock of sovereignty and decentralization.

Today, OCEAN is launching two additional Stratum endpoints.
We’ve heard from miners who want a simple way to express support/readiness for BIP110 in their blocks, and we’re making that available.
OCEAN has added two new Stratum endpoints:
• bip110.mine.ocean.xyz port 3110
• no-signal.mine.ocean.xyz port 3000
The existing endpoint (mine.ocean.xyz:3334) will switch to signaling BIP110 in 1 week (July 15th).
DATUM remains the main way OCEAN miners build blocks today, giving miners full control over block construction including the ability to signal directly in the blocks they find.
This update simply adds an option to signal for miners who are unable to use DATUM or who need a failover.
At OCEAN, we believe miners should have choice in how they participate in the network.
If you’d like your hashpower to participate in signaling, you’re welcome to join OCEAN. It’s permissionless, non-custodial, and takes just minutes to get started.

Drinnen steht die Wasserkühlung, draußen wartet der Rückkühler auf seinem Platz. Kabel liegen, die Hydraulik wird noch angeschlossen.
Auf Folien sieht sowas immer sauber aus. In echt ist sie ein Trupp in der Halle, Werkzeug in der Hand, bei 30 Grad im Schatten.

Drei Tage am Stand, und am Ende fast immer derselbe Moment. Erst die skeptische Augenbraue, dann fällt der Groschen.
Die Frage, die wir beantwortet haben? Wie wird aus Überschussstrom an PV-, Wind- und Biogasanlagen etwas Nützliches, statt ihn abzuregeln?
Antwort u.a. Sektorkopplung. Mining-Hardware als steuerbare Last wandelt überschüssige Energie in digitalen Wert und nutzbare Prozesswärme um. Sekundenschnell zu- und abschaltbar, technisch geeignet zur Netzstabilisierung.
Drei Aussteller bringen das Thema mittlerweile auf eine Solarmesse. Kein Zufall. Die Abregelungsmengen steigen, die negativen Strompreisstunden häufen sich.
Steuerbare Lasten werden Teil der Antwort sein.
