Effective Feb 14, 25, the price for Microsoft 365 Family subscriptions will increase from USD 99.99* per year to USD 129.99* per year.
It's never enough I suppose... they made $88B net in 2024...they are valued at $3.69 TRILLION, and they just laid off 9,000 people.
GREED!

We need to look out for each other in these hard times. If you cancel services (lawn people, house keepers, etc) and have the ability, try and pay them even though services are not performed. It may hurt but if we all help the pain can be lessened.

The .NET community has lost a legend. Scott has taught all of us so much. His blog posts and Pluralsight courses have contributed to the strength of this vibrant community. I am deeply saddened by this news of his passing. May he rest in peace.

“Okay you know how a function can call other functions?”
“Yeah, of course”
“It’s just like that…but add 15 servers, 2 load balancers, and at least 7 network hops, plus you get to role play in a murder-mystery when anything goes sideways”

Crossing the t:s and dotting the i:s on a high level blogpost on the key reasons why you should be using Erlang. When doing so, @keithelder's excellent talk comes to mind. We need more talks like his at other, non BEAM related conferences: codesync.global/media/buildi…

Same. Thanks to @keithelder and @jmcw who saw a spark in me and invested in my future. 7.5yrs later I'm CTO of @RocketHomes! Pretty incredible what things can happen when we invest in one another as humans and not just technologists.

having wasted pretty much my entire adult life in tech startups I'd say that an overwhelming majority of public facing people of companies are in it for ego not the work..They want to be the next Steve Jobs and tend to drone on as if their site/app etc. will bring heaven on earth
