By the end of his life, Leary had moved beyond LSD into personal computers, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, cybernetics, life extension and the possibility of escaping biological death itself. The psychedelic guru had become an early transhumanist. The man who once tried to dissolve the ego began imagining the human being as information: the brain as a bio-computer, personality as software, reality as an interface and death as a technical problem waiting to be solved.
