I love to mix as I go when producing so I know clearly what path I’m taking with the record but I also feel like it sometimes can limit me creatively as I focus too much on the sonics and not enough on the production. Am I the only one?

Trick to get loud masters : it’s not about smashing the limiter but rather about bringing the Peak and RMS values closer together. Try paralleling in upward compression on your busses and regular parallel and serial compression so that your limiter is not doing more than -3/-6
