BREAKING: A UK judge has ruled that a Gazan refugee and mother of three must be allowed to bring 18 family members to Britain.
Upper Tribunal Judge Gemma Loughran upheld a decision that refusing entry to the extended family would breach the European Convention on Human Rights, citing the woman’s mental health and the right to family life.
The relatives approved to come include:
- Her parents
- A brother, his wife, and their four children
- A sister and her four children
- Another sister, her husband, and their three children
The woman only has space to house her parents. The remaining 16 family members will require taxpayer-funded housing and will be eligible for welfare support.

Police officer avoids jail despite stealing perfume, hair straighteners, medals and cash from a handbag while on duty.
Chloe Henderson, 29, a former Devon and Cornwall Police officer, has been sentenced after admitting three counts of theft and misconduct in public office.
The disgraced officer stole perfume, GHD hair straighteners and King's Coronation medals from her own colleagues at Charles Cross Police Station in Plymouth.
In another shocking incident, Henderson took possession of a handbag while on duty but failed to record it as lost property, instead stealing cash and a mobile phone power bank from inside.
Her offending took place over a period of three years, between 2022 and 2025, while she was serving as a police officer. Five further theft charges were ordered to lie on file.
Appearing at Taunton Crown Court today, Henderson was handed a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years. She must also complete 200 hours of unpaid work and pay costs and compensation to one of her victims.
Henderson resigned from Devon and Cornwall Police following her guilty pleas, with a subsequent misconduct hearing concluding that she would have been dismissed had she remained in the force.
Condemning her actions, Detective Chief Inspector Ilona Rosson, from the Professional Standards Department said:
"Needless to say, her colleagues’ belongings should have been safe while they went about their employment."
She added: "Henderson’s offending took place over a prolonged period of time and as such cannot be described as a one-off."
DCI Rosson stressed that the actions of one former officer do not represent the behaviour and values of the vast majority of officers who uphold the highest standards.
