I had the insane and delightful opportunity of interviewing Lily and Barbara Kingsolver about their new children's book, Coyote's Wild Home. It's a beautifully illustrated book that explores living in a world with more predators. mountainjournal.org/in-new-b…

Another piece from the Pathfinder on the impact of the federal funding freezes on the Seeley-Swan and Blackfoot Valleys. This time, focused on how contractors have been impacted. Written and reported by Katie O'Reilly. seeleylake.com/story/2025/03…

The Pathfinder's take on the federal funding freezes. Various Seeley-Swan & Blackfoot Valley nonprofits were told to stop federally-funded work, a majority of those projects focused on fuels mitigation & wildfire mitigation. seeleylake.com/story/2025/02…

The Pathfinder's Katie O'Reilly wrote a really great article about the secession inklings in the collar communities of Missoula County. Give it a read: seeleylake.com/story/2024/09… Photo by Katie O'Reilly

Hi! I'm hosting this debate in Seeley Lake with our relevant statehouse candidates and seven out of eight will be there in person (confirmed as of yesterday), one submitting responses to be read because they had scheduling conflicts. If it's pertinent to you, stop by. #mtnews

Hi! I got to write this story for Mountain Journal about a woman with a hell of a lot of perseverance and a big goal - to be the first Black, female smokejumper. mountainjournal.org/paris-ha…

This morning, the air quality monitor we've installed near our home in MSLA is showing the worst air quality in the world on the online map of the same monitors. We're at 234, with South Africa coming in second at 200 at the time of posting. Link here: airgradient.com/map/?zoom=1&…

Let it be known, I understand this is only a subset of data. It's wild, nonetheless.

I felt very lucky to sit down w/Smoke Elser & Eva-Maria Maggi to talk about their new book, Hush of the Land, chronicling Smoke's 60+ years of packing in the Bob for @MoJoGYE. Such a good reminder of the importance of knowing your area's history. mountainjournal.org/smoke-el…

Sharing a photo of Smoke I took after our interview, since it's not displaying from the link to the story, and I just love it.

One of my favorite stories I've done for sure. It's about the importance of data collection & collaboratively sharing groundwater in super NE MT. I'm so grateful for the drive, the people & the beauty of the far corners of MT. Me for @RTB_Cheerful: reasonstobecheerful.world/ru…

I went on a reporting trip out to Plentywood, MT early last week to check out an aquifer. As the cold snap hit, I kept checking and comparing temperatures in Missoula to Plentywood. With wind chill, temperatures hit the -60's in Plentywood and then some.

After the morel mushroom poisoning in the spring in MT, I really just couldn't stop thinking about how well known it was that that eating morels could be risky. Grateful for the opportunity to explore more for @KFFHealthNews & @CBSNews

I can't thank Joe O'Connor with Mountain Journal for this opportunity, or @amandaleggert for connecting me with Joe, enough. 💙
