Forever thankful I grew up in Iowa and was given the opportunity to play sports. The @IGHSAU gives so much support to girls in this state

After Bonner’s first 3, Angel left the bench went past the coaches line while the game was still in play to dab up AT on the side line.
If that was any other player, they have been issued a tech.

I can’t talk to people who think Caitlin isn’t the reason viewership has increased a lot across the board😂. people really sit here and act like she did nothing. Bruh. She pushed this league forward by like 50 years. If you think any of these playoff games would have that much viewership without her in the league….. you may need some help.

After considerable thought, I'm ready to publicly explain my 2026 WNBA MVP ballot.
Let me explain.
No player in the WNBA was responsible for generating more offense than Caitlin Clark this season.
22.3 PPG, 8.3 APG, and a WNBA record 41.2 points created per game.
The Fever had the highest scoring offense in WNBA history, and Clark was the engine driving it.
Her combination of scoring gravity, playmaking, efficiency, and ability to elevate everyone around her is something we have simply never seen before.
MVP isn't just about who scores the most points. It's about VALUE.
My final ballot:
1. Caitlin Clark
The most impactful offensive player in basketball. Her gravity creates advantages before the ball even reaches her hands. You can't measure her value simply by looking at the box score. The entire defense has to account for her, and every Fever player benefits from it.
2. A'ja Wilson
I don't need to point out how amazing A'ja is, but I will.
26.2 PPG, 9.4 RPG, and elite defensive production. The best two way player in the league and deserving of every bit of recognition she receives. The only question for me was whether her defensive contribution outweighed Clark's offensive creation.
3. Kelsey Mitchell
One of the greatest scoring seasons by a guard in WNBA history. Nearly 25 PPG on absurd efficiency, including 64%+ TS.
Her shot creation and ability to punish defensive rotations were instrumental to Indiana's success. There's a reason so many players called her "unguardable" this season.
Having two Fever players on my ballot was an easy decision.
4. Breanna Stewart
Elite two way production on a Liberty team that desperately needed her. Her defensive versatility, scoring, and ability to impact the game without dominating possessions made her one of the league's most valuable players.
Jason Sudeikis was right. People really didn't talk about her enough in the MVP conversation.
5. Olivia Miles
A phenomenal rookie season. Her playmaking and ability to keep Minnesota at the top of the standings deserve recognition, especially with Napheesa Collier unavailable.
I just couldn't justify placing her above players having a larger individual impact for their teams.
I understand that some people will find my ballot controversial, and I respect that.
Unfortunately, this will also be my final season participating in the MVP voting process.
After careful consideration, I've accepted the position of WNBA Commissioner.
I look forward to working closely with our players, officials, and ownership groups to improve the on court product, establish greater accountability and transparency in officiating, strengthen player fan relationships, modernize league operations, and ensure every franchise is positioned for sustainable growth.
I appreciate everyone's support during this transition and look forward to earning your trust as we enter this exciting new chapter for women's basketball.
My first order of business will be a complete review of the officiating department.
My second order of business will be calling Caitlin Clark to set up a tee time. I hear her golf game is in shambles.
Thank you.

This. Caitlin Clark gets more hate than every other player in the league combined. She just don't go around crying to the world about it.

FINAL THOUGHTS ON THIS PAST WEEK:
I've been a Hawkeye fan for more than 40 years, and I'm sitting in my garage close to midnight on Saturday with a drink, watching Caitlin Clark highlights on YouTube and feeling proud as hell.
Which is kind of strange when you think about it.
Caitlin and the Fever were eliminated from the playoffs this week.
Iowa just got rolled by Ohio State.
Normally, that sounds like a pretty miserable few days to be an Iowa fan.
But somehow, it doesn't feel that way.
College GameDay came back to Iowa City.
Nike turned Caitlin's shoe launch into an event on the Pentacrest, building a temporary basketball court right next to the GameDay stage.
Caitlin came home and was the guest picker.
She picked Iowa, of course. 😅
And then came the Wave.
After the first quarter, 70,000 people inside Kinnick turned toward the children's hospital.
The cameras went up to the windows, where the kids and their families were waving down at the stadium.
And standing up there with them, waving back at Kinnick, was Caitlin Clark.
Maybe the most famous athlete the University of Iowa has ever produced.
One of the most recognizable athletes in the world.
And somehow, in that moment, she wasn't a global superstar making an appearance.
She was a Hawkeye who came home.
One of ours.
That's what I've been thinking about tonight.
At Iowa, we're probably never going to measure our fandom by a trophy case full of national championships.
That doesn't mean winning doesn't matter.
Of course it fucking matters. 😂
I wanted the Fever to keep playing.
I wanted Iowa to beat the hell out of Ohio State.
Losses hurt. Bad seasons piss us off. We bitch about coaches, officials, play calling, recruiting and everything else sports fans bitch about.
But the older I get, the more I realize that being a Hawkeye has never really been dependent on any of those things.
It's deeper than wins and losses.
I've never been part of another collegiate fan base, so maybe others feel the same way about theirs.
But Hawkeye fandom has always felt like a family to me.
In Iowa City, it's everywhere. You can feel it walking down the street.
But I live in Minnesota.
And I can't tell you how many times I've been walking through a store wearing an Iowa shirt and heard some complete stranger yell:
"LET'S GO HAWKS!"
And immediately, you know.
You're one of us.
A 6'4"-6'5" kid commits to Iowa women's basketball, someone I've never met and probably never will, and my first thought isn't just, "Great pickup."
It's:
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY.
That's what being a Hawkeye feels like.
Players come and go.
Coaches come and go.
Seasons come and go.
There are incredible wins we'll talk about for the rest of our lives, and absolutely brutal losses we'd prefer to erase from our memories.
But the Tigerhawk remains.
The people remain.
The family remains.
Wins are something Hawkeyes celebrate together.
Losses are something Hawkeyes suffer together.
But being a Hawkeye?
That doesn't change.
So yeah.
The Fever lost.
The Hawks got rolled.
And somehow I'm sitting here tonight feeling more proud than ever to say:
I'm an Iowa Hawkeye.
Always have been.
Always will be.
💛🖤

they try so hard to dehumanize her and make her out to be this evil, despicable person. meanwhile? she’s watching the football game from the children’s hospital with all the kids who are sick. because THAT is who caitlin clark is. proud as ever, 22.💛🖤
Man, this is just embarrassing at this point. Grown women acting like 12 year olds. Aces are a cult.
