Why is this white man relevant to Black history? He was one of the Freedom Riders. In 1960, he was on a bus full of Freedom Riders who arrived in Montgomery Alabama where an angry whitē mob was waiting for them. He volunteered to get off the bus first and take the brunt of the mob's viõlence, which left him beàten and blòody. His name was James Zwerg.

If you've ever wondered why the Irish stand with Palestine? And oppose the oppressors? It's because they've lived it.

Macklemore’s speech: ‘I want to live in a world where being against genocide is the expectation’ ‘Where Palestinian 🇵🇸 lives are respected’ ‘We fight for equality, justice and liberation’ ‘I care because I have a heart’ ‘Because I am human’ ‘Because I am Irish 🇮🇪’ 👏

Her name is Hind Rajab. She was a five-year-old Palestinian girl remembered by family members as smart, courageous, and full of life. Hind was shot at 335 times and killed by Israeli military forces. The world will never forget the heartbreaking recordings of her final hours pleading for rescue from a car trapped under fire in Gaza City. This little girl deserved a future where she could grow up, play, and go to school safely. Instead, her story has become a tragic symbol of the devastating toll genocide takes on innocent children. Today, her mother campaigns globally to keep her daughter's memory alive and demands independent international accountability for the tragedy. Never forget her name. Justice for Hind Rajab and every innocent child.

Ah you don’t owe us a thing ❤️ I’m just so proud of my little country and its people for standing with the Palestinian people when it matters. Ireland and Palestine share something really special, and I genuinely believe that bond will always be there. Sending you love 🇮🇪🇵🇸❤️

Watching everything unfold around Ed Sheeran and Macklemore has reminded us Palestinians of something we will never forget: the love and solidarity the Irish people have shown us. We owe the people of Ireland a lifetime of respect. 🇵🇸🇮🇪

🇮🇪 BREAKING: Ireland WILL NOT participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. "RTÉ's position regarding participation in the Eurovision Song Contest remains unchanged. RTÉ will not participate in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, nor will RTÉ broadcast the competition." "RTÉ feels that Ireland’s participation cannot be justified given the appalling and ongoing loss of lives in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis there which continues to put the lives of so many civilians at risk." "RTÉ also remains deeply concerned by the continued denial of independent access to international journalists to the territory."
