Violence against Tube workers and passengers is unacceptable. So why is an inspector facing possible dismissal after intervening during an assault?

DOO, and make no mistake that is where the use of customer service inspectors will eventually lead, would turn parts of the network into no go areas for many women and disabled. Only the naive believe that this is being done to benefit passengers.
From a source very close to East West Rail: "Guards may be paid more, but their overtime is paid at flat rate. The customer service inspectors are paid slightly less, but their overtime is paid at double time. So, they could potentially cost more." DOO is all political ideology.

Another day, another failed EMR “new train”. Our demand is simple: take them out of service, fix them and make them fit for purpose BEFORE they return. Instead, EMR keeps putting an inadequate fleet into service, letting down staff and passengers alike. Enough is enough.

ITV Central joined us on the picket line yesterday as RMT members at EMR took strike action over serious safety concerns. Passengers have witnessed these issues first hand, and support our members. The public get it. Safety must come first. ✊ #SafetyFirst #EMR @RMTunion

RMT strike action over safety at East Midlands Railway RMT members working at East Midlands Railway (EMR) plan to take strike action on Saturday, August 1, and the following two Saturdays over growing safety concerns that the company has failed to address. RMT has been in dispute with EMR since April following the roll out of the 810 fleet which has been operating with a significant number of faults. Yet EMR has been sending trains into service that are likely to fail and require a full reset which leaves the train with no active safety systems including loss of communication between train drivers, dispatchers, and trackside which has occurred at least three times in the last week alone. RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey said that RMT reps at EMR had been extremely patient and tried to engage with management to no avail. “The company has even put out safety notices with no involvement, consultation or negotiation with our reps who represent those most at risk. “RMT is demanding that whilst these faults exist and until these trains are shown to be operating properly, they should be taken out of service,” he said.

Reform UK are no friends of transport workers. They want to strip our rights, ban strikes and make it easier to fire and rehire. We will defend our jobs and our rights. ✊ #RMT #WorkersRights #TradeUnion

Honoured to attend the RMT Disabled Members Conference as the NEC member. Good to hear the work of our members, important issues being raised and debated, and to report back from the NEC on progress made on last year’s resolutions. #RMT #DisabledMembers #NEC #DMAC #Conference

First weekend of the overbridge closure. 🚧👥 Extremely busy on the ground. Disappointing to hear that management were only present on the gateline for around 1.5 hours. When pressure is at its highest, staff need visible support, not token appearances.

Here’s a short, sharp version: Blocking Andy Burnham exposes the weakness of Keir Starmer. Clinging on. Personal ambition over party and country. When leaders start shutting others down, their time is nearly up.

I will just point out the Doctors have asked for a maximum of £800m, that's for 71,000 doctors who run all the hospitals. That's 'too expensive'. But when the Water Companies asked for £5bn, they were given it. Broken Britain, money for thieves, no money for you.
